This cage is where the girls reside.  I started off with a 40 gallon terrarium, which was doing just fine until the girls grew older and got bigger.  So I took my old 3 story wire cage and "sewed" it on to the top of one of the sliding doors.  Using the Christmas ornament wire hooks, my boyfriend, Brian, attached the wire cage to the wire screen.
The white tube you see in there was a way to have the girls climb to the first story of the wire cage and have fun all at the same time.  We went to the hardware store and thought this tubing for gutters was such a great idea.  It wasn't.  It was hard to clean and the girls chewed holes through out the tubing, and it was falling apart.  I just recently ordered ferret tubes and set it all up in their cage, and they love them! It's made out of hard plastic and they come in pretty colors.
And finally, my pride and joy, the boys' cage.  The 20L Gallon tank was obviously way to cramped for the boys, so I thought it would be neat to build them their very own cage myself.  Whew! What hard work!  It was well worth it though.  I saved a lot of money and they have more space to romp around in then I ever imagined.
The wire cage itself has three stories, one of which is full length.  I put some ferret tubes just for fun the boys cage as well as the girls.(Not pictured here)  They, too, love them.  I find a sleeping rat in each tube every morning.
Here is the newest cage.  I built this in 1 day! I'm getting better.  It's holding a very pregnant Patches at the moment and will be her maternity ward.
