COINCIDENCE
OR CONSEQUENCE?
by Robin
Smith.
The list of strange deaths in the wake of the Kennedy
assassination is a long one, with bizarre and disturbing implications.
Even a cursory examination of this list forces us to ask if these
deaths were COINCIDENCE OR CONSEQUENCE?
Warren Commission member Hale Boggs, congressman from Louisiana, had this
to say about the so-called 'Magic Bullet': 'I have
strong doubts about it'.
Boggs then received a package of damaging dirt on the
private lives of Warren Report critics from FBI Director Hoover,
prompting Boggs to charge: 'The FBI is using Gestapo tactics'. Boggs
further accused the FBI of tapping his and other congressmen's telephones
shortly before his plane disappeared without a trace somewhere in
Alaska.
A white russian anti-communist with links to the CIA, George Demohrenschildt
'befriended' Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas and later stated: 'Lee is innocent'.
Hours before he was to be interviewed by assassination investigator
Gaeton Fonzi Demohrenschildt allegedly committed suicide with a .20.
gauge shotgun. His widow didn't buy it.
'They may get me too. I think Oswald was a CIA
agent, but he did not kill Kennedy. Something is being covered up.
Marilyn
Moon Walle (a.k.a. 'Delilah') was a stripper employed at Jack Ruby's
Carousel Club at the time of the JFK snuff. Walle was found shot
to death on September 1, 1966. She had planned to write an insideknowledge
assassination book.
Car salesman Albert Guy Bogard claimed that Lee Harvey Oswald test-drove a vehicle
shortly before the Kennedy hit, zooming along the stemmons freeway
at 75 miles per hour. At the showroom, Oswald said he would be 'coming
into a lot of money in the next two or three weeks' and if financing
could not be arranged 'I just might go back to Russia where they
treat workers like men'. But Oswald had never learned to drive...
and the Warren Commission necessarily placed the 'real Oswald' in
Irving, Texas at the time, thereby creating two Oswalds. Where was
Dorothy Kilgallen when we needed her?
Assassination
lore is rife with Oswald doubles who invariably incriminate themselves,
as Silvia Odo states: 'Oswald came to my home with two cubans and
was introduced as Leon. Later, one of his companions quoted him as
saying we cubans should "kill Kennedy.""
Another Oswald annoyed patrons of a rifle range outside Dallas by scoring
perfect bull's eyes in their targets. Before leaving, he retrieved
all his spent casings.
Car salesman Al Bogard's Oswald story was corroborated by fellow employees...he
even passed a lie detector test...before being found dead in a Louisiana
cemetery. The dead was ruled a suicide.
Moments after the assassination, Deputy Sheriff Buddy Walthers found a .45 slug
in the Dealy Plaza grass...and gave it to a man who identified himself
as an FBI agent. No one ever saw the slug again...but Walthers couldn't stop
talking about it...'No way that bullet came from a 7.65 Mannlicher
Carcano.' ...until he was slain in a 1969 police shootout...quite
possibly by a fellow cop.
Two nights before the assassination, another Jack Ruby employee - Rose Cheramie
- was thrown from a speeding car en route from New Orleans to Dallas.
One of the men in the car was later identified as anti-Castro exile
Sergio Arcacha Smith. Cheramie survived and made hysterical accusations
from her hospital bed: 'They're going to kill the President! Kennedy
is going to die in Dallas!' Cheramie later dropped some juicy tidbits
about her boss Jack Ruby and Lee Harvey Oswald: 'They were bedmates!'
Cheramie
was then the object of a hit-and-run 'accident' in 1965. This time the car won...and
she died.
According to many witnesses and researchers, when the long-suppressed JFK
authopsy photos were finally released, they showed clear evidence of
tampering and even forgery. Retouching changed exit wound to entrance
wound, implying a fatal head shot from the rear rather than the front.
The original autopsy photos were taken by Lt. William Pitzer, who
told friends he underwent repeated and 'horrifying' debriefings.
Found dead of a gunshot wound which was ruled 'self-inflicted', Pitzer still
held a .45 pistol in his right hand. He was left-handed.
In another alleged suicide - after telling friends the CIA was involved
in the JFK hit - former CIA agent Gary Underhill was found shot through
the left side of his head. He was right-handed.
Lee Bowers, Jr., stationed in a railroad control tower behind the grassy
knoll, saw two men at the stockade fence and 'a flash of light or
smoke' at the time of the Kennedy shooting. The Warren Commission didn't
want to hear it. Bowers died on August 9, 1966 when he somehow managed
to crash into a bridge abutment. The pathologist said Bowers was
in a 'strange state of shock' at the time of the one-car 'accident.'
In violation of JFK's orders, notorious oddball David Ferrie helped the
CIA train anti-Castro cuban exiles in camps outside New Orleans. Ferrie
also worked for New Orleans crime boss Carlos Marcello, who had once
been deported to Guatemala by future assassination victim attorney general Robert
Kennedy. Another Ferrie associate was fellow anti-Castroite and former
FBI agent Guy Bannister, working out of the same building at 544
Camp Street which housed Lee Harvey Oswald's ostensibly pro-Castro
activities. Finally, pilot Ferrie had served as a Captain in the
New Orleans Civil Air Patrol - and one of his cadets had been none
other than a young Lee Harvey Oswald. All this made Ferrie a prime
witness-suspect in Jim Garrison's trial of Ferrie's good buddy Clay
Shaw. Unfortunately for the New Orleans district attorney, Ferrie
was found dead of an unusual 'brain hemorrhage' before he could testify.
At the same time Ferrie's cuban-exile friend Aladio del Valle was shot and had
his head split with a machete in Miami. Jim Garrison had been looking
for him, too. Yet another person connected to Ferrie - Dr. Mary Sherman
- was shot in bed and set on fire. Truly, we have now stumbled into
the weird and chilling realm of overkill. Beaten the day before he
was to testify in the Garrison trial about the connections between
Shaw, Ferrie, Oswald, and Ruby - Clyde Johnson was subsequently murdered
by shotgun. Following her husband Robert Perrin's death by poisoning,
Nancy Perrin rich testified that her former boss Jack Ruby had smuggled
guns into Cuba.
Dr.
Nicholas Chetta, a potentially key witness who performed the autopsies
on Ferrie, Sherman, and Perrin, himself died of a 'heart attack'
during Garrison's investigation. Not even the New Orleans Coroner
was safe from death - or allowed to testify. As for Clay Shaw himself,
he was acquitted of all charges in the 1969 Garrison prosecution.
The jurors admitted that D.A. Garrison had proven a conspiracy in
the Kennedy assassination, but had not convinced of Shaw's involvement.
Since the trial, however, many of Garrison's allegations have been
proven dead on. A recently uncovered photo, for example, establishes
that David Ferrie and Clay Shaw were indeed acquainted - well enough
to party together at a gay bash.
Clay Shaw, posing as 'Clay Bertrand' also asked New Orleans
hipster - attorney Dean Andrews to represent Oswald after the assassination.
And
former CIA agent Victor Marchetti confirms Shaw's CIA relationship: 'The agency
was very concerned about helping their man Shaw during his trial.' (This, while the CIA
publicly disavowed any connection to Shaw.) And Clay Shaw's own death
- supposedly on August 14, 1974 - ranks right up there with the strangest
of the strange. First, neighbors reported seeing a dead body being
taken into Shaw's house and later - after an ambulance had arrived
- out of the house. Where, how, why, and exactly when Shaw actually
died is anybody's guess since his body was whisked away for burial
before an autopsy ścould be performed.
Mafia figure Charles Nicoletti was found in his burning car with three
bullets in his head shortly before he was scheduled to testify before
the House Assassination Committee. Two other mob figures were also
slated to testify about the connection between the JFK rubout and
CIA-mafia attempts to assassinate Fidel Castro - John Roselli and
Sam Giancana. (Giancana had allegedly 'shared' mistress Judith Campbell
Exner with JFK.) Before his scheduled testimony to the Senate Intelligence
Committee - but after he had blabbed Kennedy conspiracy info to columnist
Jack Anderson - Roselli's sliced and diced pieces were found stuffed
in a barrel floating in a Miami Bay.
Giancana
was shot to death while cooking a pot of spaghetti. The murderweapon
was a silenced .22 pistol, a gun favored by clandestine spooks, not
mob hitmen. The list goes on - key witnesses, and suspicious individuals
dying of untimely 'heart attacks,' stabbings, shootings, slashed
throats even a 'suicide' committed by 'charging facefirst through
a plate glass window.' Far too many to list them all - so let's wrap
with the one death most indicative of conspiracy.
Russian defector and Marine patriot, commie and anti-commie, sharpshooter and
lousy shot, loving husband and wife-abuser, sophisticate and hick,
Kennedy hater and JFK admirer, Lee Harvey Oswald was a convivial
loner capable of being in two (or many more) places at once. A 'meek,
mild man,' Oswald was arrested for the violent murders of a cop and
a president. When Oswald's scheduled transfer to the Dallas County
Jail had been delayed for an hour, he was finally escorted out into
the basement of police headquarters only after a man named Jack Ruby
had arrived whereupon a car horn mysteriously blared four times and
Ruby, the Dallas strip joint owner with links to organized crime,
the police, Castroites, anti-castroites, and intelligence circles,
surged forth with a gun in his hand -shooting Oswald dead literally
under the noses of the cops 'protecting' him.
Ruby
himself died in prison after claiming he'd been 'injected with cancer
cells' - and that 'the full truth of the assassination will never
be known.'[1]
