This was written in as one persons correction as to is what is written on the St. Augustine page. Believe which ever one you would like, but if you want to believe Pensacola is the first city in Florida, read on...

Hello! I was reading your site about north Florida and just wanted to let you know that St. Augustine is not the oldest town. Oldest settled, yes. Oldest, no. I'm from Pensacola and get offend when I see that. It's not your fault its all the books they just don't know. You see Pensacola was settled long before St. Augustine, but there was a hurricane that completely destroyed the town. They rebuilt, but St. Augustine was then given the title oldest. Pensacola has 3 forts one which sank(another hurricane) and a lighthouse. They also have three navy bases(my dad was in the navy). It is also the home to the Blue Angels!!! I hope I didn't offend you by writing I just wanted to let you know.
THANKS, Katie
