Boomers
In south Florida, there are two Boomers parks that I know of. Both of them are along I-95, but they include different attractions. Going from north to south, the first Boomers is in Boca Raton. Thats what I'll start with. Look below.
Boomers-Boca Raton
At this Boomers, you can find many things to do, which include rideing on Go-Karts, to going on a virtual roller coaster. I will give a more detailed discription of the attractions at the Ft. Lauderdale Boomers, but for the Boca Boomers, I'll give a list of attractions.
-
Go Karts-A basic go-kart track
-
Bumper Boats-A bumper boat pool
-
Mini Golf-A mountain Golf course
-
Arcade-A large arcade
Boomers-Ft. Lauderdale
This is the Ft. Lauderdale Boomers. Here, with the ajoining Daina Beach Roller Coasters, there are more thrill rides than at the Boca Boomers. A little history about this park is that it was orginally the site of a water park owned by Six Flags. If you look in front of the Go-Kart track, you can still see the submarine, which was from this park. Look below for ride descriptions:
-
Go Carts-The Go carts here are much better than the Go Karts at the Boca Boomers. The track is a mile long, and it is worth it to buy the unlimited ride pass. If you ride on this twice, it is paid off. One and two person Carts are avaible. If you look below, you can see the go twisted Kart track past the Roller Coaster:
-
NasKarts-These are a smaller version of the Go Carts, only they go a lot faster, or at least they seem to. They are also harder to control, and are very bumpy. Although the track is a lot shorter than the normal go karts, and it's a lot bumpier, it is still worth rideing. A picture of it comes later...
-
Bumper Boats-There is one of these at the Boca Boomers as well. I think there is a bigger pool here though. To see a picture, look below. By the way...In the background are the NasKarts ride.
- Mini Golf Course-This is a small golf course. There is no mountain, but is still enteraining.
- Arcade-A huge arcade with many new video games.
- Dirt Buggys-These are a version of go Karts, only they go around on a dirt track instead of a cement one.
- Bungie Jumping-this is a large bungie tower from a crane. You are lifted up and then droped, swinging back and forth, and then finally coming to a stop near the ground. Its not the biggest...Actually there are much bigger near Disney...One of them is the World's tallest to be exact, but this one is fun anyway. Look below for a picture.
- Blender-The blender has to be the best ride in the "boomers" part of the park. It is a large, tall, tower, with two, two person seats on each end. People are loaded into the ride, and then straped in very, very well. (very Important!). They ride attendent then goes and turns the ride on. You then get pulled up to the top, very fast, and then back down. Due to the nature of this ride, the seats, twist around, and sometimes you are facing the ground when you fall. This is a very uncomfortable feeling, especially since you know you were hundreds of feet in the air about two seconds ago. Below, I have many pictures of this ride.
Loading the blender.
Strapping in!
Here we GO!!!
High, isn't it!!!
The Blender next to the Bungie Jumping Crane.
That's it for the blender.
- Kittie Rides-There are many assorted kittie rides scattered around Boomers. Not so great for the thrill seakers, but great for the little ones.
Right next door to the Ft. Lauderdale Boomers, there is the Daina Beach Roller Coaster. If you didn't know about it you would think that it was part of boomers, but the six dollar admission, not included in the pay one price wristbands says something!.
