A while later outside Jackies house... Donna (stepping back from the door): Maybe shes not home. Weve been ringing the bell for, like, ten minutes Hyde (who is looking up at a window): Shes home Eric: How do you know? Hyde: Shes been watching us out that window up there Both Donna and Eric look to where Hydes eyes are locked and see a shadow quickly backing away from the window. Donna (throwing her hands up in exasperation): Great. What should we do now? Eric: Maybe we should just give her time to cool down a little. Well try again tomorrow. Hyde (yelling up at the window): Jackie! Damn it Jackie! Let us in! Eric (trying to pull Hyde away): Cmon Hyde. Well try again tomorrow. I dont think us getting caught yelling up at a window in this neighborhood would be a good thing. Donna: Erics right. Well talk to her tomorrow. Hyde (muttering while shaking his friends off): Fine. Whatever. Hyde quickly turns and walks off without waiting for Eric and Donna. Donna and Eric turn and slowly follow behind Hydes retreating figure. Eric: Whats up with him? Donna (smirking knowingly): Ever heard the phrase absence makes the heart grow fonder? Eric (a look of shock on his face): You think that Hyde... Donna: I definitely think that Hyde... Eric: I was joking earlier in the basement. I didnt really mean... Donna: As a casual observer I would say that this has been building for a while. Eric: But I thought they had a date and decided it wouldn't work. Donna: Thats not exactly what happened. What really happened might be part of what is going on now. Eric: In English please? Donna: First you have to promise NEVER to tell this to anyone, especially Hyde. Jackie told me this in confidence. Eric: I promise. Donna (sighing): Okay, well, you know how Jackie finally got Hyde to go out with her? Eric: I seem to recall that, yes. Donna (hitting Eric on the arm): Anyways, they kissed. Eric: Kissed? Mouth on mouth? Donna: That is usually how it is done. Can I continue? Eric: Sorry. Go on. Donna: Jackie lied to Hyde about it. Eric: Lied to him? Donna: She told him she didnt feel anything. Eric: Why would she do that? Donna: She was afraid that he was going to reject her yet again and wanted to save herself some of the humiliation that she figured was coming. Eric (shaking hid head in understanding): So she told him she didnt feel anything even thought she did and in response Hyde probably agreed with her whether he actually felt anything or not. Donna: That about sums it up. Eric: And I thought the situation was complex before... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Jackies bedroom Jackie is looking out the window watching Hyde, Eric and Donna walk away. She has tears running down her face. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Hydes apartment Hyde had returned home after yelling at Kelso some more and was now sulking on the couch. Hyde (thinking): Who the hell does Jackie think she is? You cant just drop something like that on someone then disappear. She knows I dont hate her. I think. I wouldnt have kissed her if I hated her. But she didnt feel anything so I said I didnt feel anything. I mean, I didnt feel anything. Well, maybe a little twinge, but shes a girl and Im a guy. I should feel a twinge. Especially since she is a pretty girl. NO! I did not just think that Jackie was pretty. God, Im screwed. I have to talk to her and straighten this whole thing out. Ill just go over and talk to her, but she wont let me in. Ill make her let me in! Hell, Ill break in if I have to. Thats what Im going to do. I am going to make her listen to me. Ill make her understand that we don't hate her. Ill make her come back to Foremans house. Shes good for Donna. Yep, Ill do it for Donna. For Donna and Eric since Jackie helping Donna helps Eric. Ill just go over to her house and make her see that we, I mean, they really like her and like having her around. With that Hyde gets up, grabs his jacket and heads out of the apartment. to part 3 back to stories |
