beer and cheese fondue |
this is really called "golden buck anglais." it's technicalle supposed to be served over a slice of bread, not in a fondue pot, so it tends to get a bizarre texture after being in the fondue awhile. |
ingredients:
8 oz cheddar cheese
2 T butter
1/4 dark beer (porter)
1 t worcestershire sauce
1 t lemon juice
4 eggs, beater
1/4 t pepper
a couple of nice french loaves
instructions:
-cut cheese into cubes anc cook over low heat with butter and beer, stirring constantly.
-when cheese melts, add worchestershire sauce, lemon and eggs, stirring constantly, until mixture is creamy.
-put in heated fondue and serve immediately.
