banana bread |
this is the best recipe because it occurs to me to make it whenever the bananas go bad. |
ingredients:
1/2 shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 generous cup mashed bananas (brown works best)
1 t lemon juice
1 t vanilla
2 cups flour
3 t baking powder
1/2 salt
instructions:
-preheat oven to 375 degrees.
-cream shortening and sugar together.
-in separate bowl, mix eggs, bananas, lemon juice and vanilla and then add to sugar mixture.
-in separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt and add to mixture.
-grease a loaf pan and spoon mixture into the pan.
-bake for about an hour.
-let cool for ten minutes then remove from pan and wrap to keep moist.
