Forgiveness
(this poem is currently in competition)
I cried today
because you were helping me:
You were
exposing my wounds
so we could salve them together.
Youre holding my hand
and telling me whats wrong
so that we can wade there together,
so we both arrive on that shore.
Im guilty.
Youre pointing out my angel scars,
youre lifting up the tear in my wings
so we can fly there together,
so we can both fly through the sky.
I remembered today:
were both guilty
as I put my finger
in a warm weeping on your cheek,
as I pointed out your untied shoelace
so we could tie it together,
so we could walk there together,
so we could dance through this life.
