Chapter Nine
Tree ran into Sher at the hospital and went to hug her, but noticed her brother. "Hi, Luis." She gave him a hug instead. She wished Kat was there... she needed her best friend.
"Hey, Theresa, I gotta talk to you. Let's go find Kay.." Sher led Tree off but was followed by Luis. Sher whispered quickly to her, "Beeline to the Ladies on this floor, three count." They kept walking and came into an intersection of hallways in the hospital. She counted on her hand 3... 2... 1... and they both ran in opposite directions leaving Luis thinking about who to follow and then running after Sher, only to see the, oh, so familiar blond run into the Ladies Room behind a bouncy brunette.
"Oh, yeah.. We're good." Tree laughed and then slipped out the walkie-talkie from her purse. "Kat- this is a niner... or whatever. Pick up your walkie talkie, girl!" She smiled and slipped into old times with the Lopez~ Fitzgerald women, forgetting about her troubles with Ethan....
*Flashback*
"Yeah, baby!" Sher laughed as she put a dollar bill in a stripper's underwear strap.
"Man, Sher, for your last night as a bachelorette, you sure are having a good time." Kat yelled over the crowd.
"Ladies, may I have your attention, please!" The M.C. came out onto the stage.
"Not unless you plan to take off that cheesy suit!" Some obviously drunken woman yelled out from the back.
"No, no. Besides, I'm sure you would rather see our next guys. You see, we have a special trio for a bachelorette party going on tonight for Mrs. Sheridan Crane who is here with her Matrons of Honor, Theresa Lopez Fitzgerald and Kay Bennett... for your last night as a bachelorette, we have a big surprise for you. Can we hear it for Miguel Baby Face Lopez~ Fitzgerald who is our matador...." Miguel was shoved onto the right stage where Kay was immediately in hysterics. "Ethan The Lips Crane who is our business man with the BIG stocks and bonds!" Ethan was also pushed onto the left stage while Theresa immediately went digging for dollar bills. "And, our main act for tonight, on center stage, Luis Muscle Man Lopez~ Fitzgerald who's our friendly police officer tonight." Luis came out on one stage in front of Sheridan who was about to pass out from laughter. Luis picked up a microphone.
"Us guys have decided if we're going to let you put our hard-earned money in guys' underwear... it better be ours. With a little shove from me, " he looked with narrowed eyes at the guys on the stages next to him, "we are going to give you what you deserve for your money. We're going for the full monty, and Theresa, I never want to see you at one of these places again." Luis said with his eyebrow up and that million dollar smile, Miguel was blushing furiously and Ethan was trying to keep Theresa in her seat. "Hit it before these beautiful ladies hit US!" Heartbreak hotel came onto the speakers...
Since my baby left me.... BAH NUH! Luis started.
I found a new place to dwell.... BAH NUH! Miguel began.
It's down at the end of a lonely street called... Heartbreak Hotel... Ethan shook off Theresa and reluctantly started his routine.
The best part is when Miguel's matador cape, Ethan's briefcase, and Luis's police hat were taken away from the areas they were guarding, which took the girls a week to stop laughing.
*End Flashback*
That was the best night of Theresa's life and now she was without her boyfriend, her world! She still had her friends though.
"Hey, Tree.Where are you guys?" Kat said when she got reluctantly moved away from Simone...
"2nd Floor-"
"Restroom. You should probably find a new hiding place." Kat finished, walking in. "You know, Luis is standing out by that door like one of the guards in front of Buckingham Palace." 'I can't tell them what I know, or it'll ruin my plan... they'll understand later' she thought.
"Ethan and Gwen are broken up. Man, I took a lucky guess that she and Hank would be together.. I had no idea I would be right." Tree informed them.
"Great, that means you and Ethan are close..." Kat patted her on the back.
"You'd think so, wouldn't you? He still thinks of Theresa as a friend. I feel sorry for that girl." She splashed her face with water.
"Well, you're gonna get him back soon, right? You have ideas..." Sher asked.
"Oh, yeah. Even though I ran out, leaving him with his mouth open catching flies, I've already started working out a plan. I need a drop-dead outfit, good timing, five gold bars, Superman, and goat cheese... Of course I don't know how to get him back! I'M CLUELESS YOU GUYS!!! What do I do? Ethan was the one who liked me first on our world. I don't know how to get a guy to like me, I just know how to get him available." She slumped down against a stall and the girls sat on either side of her.
"Luis and Sheridan are going good. We kissed. You know, he's a bit annoying on this world... but boy, he still has that kiss that..." Sher started.
Kat nodded, "It must run in the family... Miguel's last kiss she gave me till burns on my lips." She touched her mouth.
"You guys, we talked about this. No talking how good my brothers are around me. They're my brothers..." Tree put her head down.
"We gotta get serious. Are we staying at the cottage tonight, Sher?" Kat asked.
"No, Luis is staying there and I gotta figure out some way to keep away from him or I'm gonna think he's my Luis." Sher fixed her hair and looked at Kay's outfit. "Since when could you afford Donna Karan without me?" She asked incredulously.
"I don't need you to pay for my stuff! I'm friends with Mom and we're going to get her and Dad together and away from those b-- witches! Just because you have money doesn't mean no one else does! " Kat snapped.
"Look, you-" Sher started to retaliate but Tree stood up between them.
"Stop right now. We're all a little frustrated. We need to calm down and figure out what's new. Kat, what's wrong with you?" She put her hands on Kat's shoulders.
Kat collapsed onto the floor and pulled off her sunglasses. Hugging her knees to her chest, she told what she had learned. "Miguel's going out with Charity Standish!" She sobbed. "Tree, please let me stay at your house... I just can't sleep at home with two of them under my roof!"
"Of course, Kat..." Tree stood up and led Kat towards the door out of the bathroom while Sher grabbed some tissues for her.
"I'm so sorry, Sher! I didn't mean to snap at you, you know I love you guys more than anything! We're the Lopez~Fitzgerald women to the rescue!" They all hugged each other and went out into the hospital hallway.
"I better check up on Chad... I just hope he's okay. Are you gonna come with me, Kay?" Tree asked her.
"No, I'm gonna go home, get some stuff. I'll be over around 9 tonight. I need to do some studying at the library, too. Bye, Tree. Bye, Sher." She went and said a quick good-bye to Simone before she went home.
"Bye, Sher... idan. Bye, Luis." Tree went off to Chad's hospital room leaving them alone.
Sher said good-bye and then, when she was walking towards the exit with Luis, doubled over in pain. She collapsed into his arms and he started screaming for a doctor.
