Chapter Seven
Ivy stood up in a huff, "Are you threatening me?"
Kat laughed in the way Ivy would when Eve said that Ivy wouldn't get Sam... she was very much like her mother... Always scheming and evil, but in a good way, that you could admire. "Calm down, calm down. I can tell by you wearing that locket that you still want my father, or else you wouldn't wear it. I hate my mother for reasons I can't tell you now. I plan on helping you get him. You need someone on the inside, and who's closer to him than his own daughter? All I want is a few things in return, " Kat snidely said.
"What? You want me to pay blackmail? I'll pay, I'll pay, " She said in a hurried voice, twisting a handkerchief with her hands in her lap.
"Listen to me, I am on your side here. Don't worry, I don't want blackmail. I just want to know what's going on with you and my father. I want details, Ivy. If we're going to be friends, partners, I want to know it all. Secrets and... a partnership. If I need help with something other than my father, I need you in my corner. If you are in a situation, I'll be there to help you. It's a win-win situation. When this is over, we'll look back on all this and laugh. " she said with a smile.
Ivy never had someone she could trust on. Eve was just helping her because she was blackmailing her, but she knew she could trust Kay. Besides, it might be fun having a scheming pal around to be friends with. "Alright. Deal."
"Great. Let's do some damage on this town." Kat got up and checked her hair. "I think we need a makeover. Inside and Out."
"Good idea. This will be fun. I don't think my out-and-out asking Sam for a passionate night of love is doing it for me." Ivy picked up her purse and they headed out the door.
"You're right. First things first, what do you do when your love falls for another? Become friends and sabotage their relationship by finding out the other woman's faults." She smiled and got into the car right behind Ivy. 'This is going to be interesting...'

"So, Luis, you wanna know what changed with us?" Sher got right to the point. She didn't have any time to waste.
"Of course, I do, but you're not going to tell me. So why even both-" Luis started as he put some clothes into a drawer in the spare room.
"Will you shut up, Luis?" She yelled.
He looked at her in shock then realized SHE just told HIM to shut up. "ME shut up when you haven't so much as thanked me for saving your life, what? FIVE TIMES?!"
"I'M SORRY! THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY LIFE! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO ME AND IT MAKES ME VERY CONFUSED HOW YOU WOULD SAVE MY LIFE EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE USING ME!" She screamed out letting out some tension along with it. 'That felt pretty good, me and Luis haven't fought in quite a while and it helps to yell some. I didn't think I was this good an actress, when I get home maybe I'll start a play for the youth center...' She was brought out of her thoughts by Luis's yells.
"I DIDN'T USE YOU! I don't even know what you're talking about! We were just fine and then you come up and slap me and- Stop laughing!" Luis looked at her angrily while Sher couldn't hold in her giggles. The picture of her slapping Luis and...
"Luis, I'm sorry... It's just... this vein... starts throbbing on your forehead when you get all angry..." She touched his head where the vein was, and then, noticing how close she was to Luis, remembered she had a plan to follow through. "The night you kissed me on the pier... I came back to talk to you and I overheard you talking on the phone to someone.. You told them that you were using me to get back at the Cranes for what we've done to your family..." She sobbed loudly and covered her eyes until she could work up some tears. It's not she didn't feel bad about tricking Luis but this didn't happen to her, she had to work into this. A lightbulb went on above her head and she ran out the door, leaving a stunned Luis behind. She had to slow down when she noticed that he wasn't right behind her. "Okay, he's figuring it out. 3...2....1..."
"I went back to the station... at least five cops saw me. It wasn't me!" he whispered to himself and ran out of the cottage after Sher.

Gwen rushed over to Ethan who was lying on the floor stunned. "Ethan, are you okay?"
"No, I'm not, DARLING." Ethan said wiith spite in his voice.
Meanwhile, Tree was sweating beads. 'Crap, crap, crap...' She hoped that it was the same as it was on her own world....
*Flashback*
Tree walked along the cliffs looking at the beautiful scenery.. She stopped her stroll when she saw the gleam of sunlight reflecting off a golden object. She saw a note under a rock next to it. Picking up the rock and the small engagement ring beside it, she read the short letter.
Dear Mother and Father-
I love Hank, no matter what you say. I don't care if he is poor or is in a lower class, but to me he has more class than both of you put together. We got married last night, and knew that no matter how far we ran, you would find us. When you read this letter, we will be in a place where we can be together so our love can flourish. I do love you, because you're my parents. But since you would not let us be together, we had to take matters into our own hands. Good-bye.

*End Flashback*
"Gwen, is it true? Are you having an affair with Hank Bennett?" Ethan snapped at her.
Tree slowly turned the knob, ready to make a hasty getaway.
"Yes, it's true! Now that you know, I can shout to the world that I love Hank Bennett!" Gwen yelled.
"WHAT?!" Ethan and Tree both said at the same time.
