Chapter Twelve
Kat yawned as she moved to go into the Lopez~Fitzgerald house. It was around ten at night and she worried everyone would be asleep, except for Tree. No doubt the latina would be rearranging all of her double's furniture, even if it was exactly like her own room already. "Psst, Tree!" She threw a pebble at the window.
"Who's there?" Tree peeked out her window with a handkerchief scarf on her head and wearing an old T-shirt.
"Pick up your walkie-talkie!"
"Where have you been? You were supposed to be here an hour ago." Tree buzzed over the radio.
"Yeah, yeah. I know. I was at the library.. studying." Kat motioned the over-packed knapsack she was carrying.
"Well, you can't come in the front. Mama's still up and if she sees I'm awake or you coming in late, we'll both be in trouble. She's not as nice here as she is on our world. Climb up the trellace." Tree advised her.
"Okay, catch my bookbag." She threw it up into Tree's arms and began her climb. "You know, you owe me so big for this... but this is better than being with Charity and Grace." She whispered up to the second story window.
"Yeah, so be quiet and get up here. Don't step on the one spot though because it looks like the wood is rotted through."
"What? I can't hear you." Kat replied then she stepped on the rotted wood. She shrieked and started yelling for Tree to help her.
Miguel woke up when he heard someone scream. He looked outside his window and saw Kat hanging by one foot upside down on the trellace. She had lost her grip, but her foot stuck in one of the spaces. "Kay?! What are you doing here?"
"Miguel, please help me! I was going to Theresa's room and I fell down... Help me, Miguel!!!" She almost screamed but knew better than to disturb Pilar.
"Okay, Kay. You need to calm down and take my hand. Take deep breaths and concentrate." Kat followed his orders and pulled herself up so that she could grasp Miguel's. He pulled her in and she hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, thank you. Oh, my God, I could've died then we'd never beat them. Thank you so much, Miguel." She kissed him on the cheek. "I've missed you so much, but I have to go now. Promise me you'll be at my house. Early tomorrow, okay?" She said backing out of his room to go to Tree.
"Okay. I promise. Are you okay?" Miguel asked worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you again. Bye!" She waved and ran to Tree's room.
"Oh, my God, Kat! Are you all right?" Tree ran up to her and pulled her into the room.
"Yes, I'm okay. Miguel saved my life.. Ooh, I'm loving the room. It's got a storytale-esque quality." Kat said looking at the room.
"Okay, let me describe what I did. I painted all the walls an off-white and on each wall is a scene from a different fairy tale. There's Rapunzel letting her hair down, Cinderella dancing with Prince Charming, the princess on top of all the mattresses, and Snow White lying asleep with an apple next to her. Also, I took Theresa's sheets and attached them to the ceiling so that it turns the bed into a canopy bed." Tree boasted about her work.
"Loving it, absolutely loving it! Now we have to work on a major strategy, if all is right, then I think we are practically done with our plan."
"Kat, what are you thinking of doing?" Tree asked incredulously.
"Just making a house fall on a couple of witches. I've got the perfect way." She smirked.
"Why, Kat, I do think you have now officially become evil." Tree laughed.
"Thank you, thank you very much." Kat laughed and brought out her books. "My motto is to know your enemy, so let's hit the books." She proclaimed as Tree let out a whine.
"Books? You are making me study?" Tree growled and picked up a book. "You are making me study witches?"
"Not ordinary witches, the Witches Stand." Kat turned to a page she had marked and began to read. "We need a staff of oak, poison ivy, hemlock, and this." She took out a hair brush and some dark hair wrapped together with a ribbon. "This time, they're not getting away with it."

Sher woke up in a hospital bed and noticed Luis asleep in a chair next to her. "That's so cute. My man's cuter, but he's cute. I miss Luis..."
*Flashback*
Sheridan laid out in the sun reading a book. She had on her bikini to get a good tan and was getting roasted. "I think I'll take a swim as soon as I finish this chapter. I'm not getting a tan, I'm getting burned." She said to herself.
Suddenly, she looked up and she saw some guy parachute into the pool with a big splash. "Okay, I'm just imagining it. The UV rays must be frying my brain." She dived into the pool with the plan to swim right through to the other side, but found that it was a real guy, in a parachute. She realized that it was weighing him down and he was drowning. Coming up for air, she dived down and breathed into his mouth and then finally unhooked his parachute.
"Luis?!" Sheridan exclaimed after bringing the guy up from the water.
"I guess this wasn't as romantic as I thought, Sherry... I didn't think I'd land in the pool but the wind brought me over here... Wait, there's something down there." He dived down and brought up a sign.
Swimming backwards to see the whole sign she read it aloud. "Sherry, will you marry me? I don't know... I mean, just because you drop into my pool while I'm trying to get a tan and then ask me to marry you... doesn't mean I will." Luis looked down sadly while still in the pool. "Of course, in this case, you just happen to be lucky that I'm saying yes." She smiled and tackled him in the water.
*End Flashback*
"Hi, Sheridan. How are you feeling?" Luis said, finally waking up.
"I'm okay. Did they say if anything's wrong with the baby?" Sher said, still caught up in the flashback, thinking she was in her world.
"Okay, it was funny when you were on drugs. Sheridan, you know you're not pregnant. You just got your appendix taken out."
"WHAT?!" Sher's mouth drropped.
