The Four World Centers


The Four World Centers are Pax Lodge which is in London, England, Our Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland, Sagnam in Pune, India and Our Cabaņa in Cuernavaca, Mexico. The centers offer a home for girls while they are visiting the area. Each World Center encourages unity and friendship among Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. Pax Lodge

Pax Lodge was originally named Our Ark and officially opened May 2, 1939 in London, England. It has since moved multiple times and has changed it's name from Our Ark to Olave House and finally the residence area became Pax Lodge. The Lodge has a special pin you may only recieve if you have been to Pax Lodge.You may not trade or give it away.



Our Chalet

Our Chalet formally opened in Adelboden, Switzerland on July 31, 1932. This was the first World Center opened for all Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in the world to share. Our Chalet focuses on physical activity and adventure.



Sangam

Sangam was founded to promote Girl Guiding in Asia. The World Center is in Pune, India. Sangam was officially opened on the 16 of October, 1966 by the World Chief Guide, Olave Baden-Powell. The name "Sangam" means "coming together", symbolizing the purpose of this World Center- to be a place for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts to meet and share cultures.



Our Cabaņa
The mission of Our Cabaņa is to challenge young women to live and value international friendship and understanding. Our Cabaņa opened in July of 1957 and was expanded in 1969, making this world center the largest of the four World Centers. Upon arrival, participants are greeted by a giant blue door, known as the "Chief's Door". After girls walk through, they are welcomed by five acres of beautiful gardens.
