But Roy, is it art?
April 7, 2003 | 9:58 pm %%entry%% I love Roy Lichtenstein, did you know? I wrote an essay about him for art history. It was really awful, written mostly the day before and the day it was due. I barely mentioned the painting I was talking about. I didn't prove my thesis. I don't think I even had a thesis. I didn't even put my name on the essay! And yet, somehow, I got 84% which was indeed the highest mark in my tutorial. How I do this, I have no idea. I know everyone says Lichtenstein's "Brushstroke" series is his best, critically, but you know what? It's his comic paintings that have really stood the test of time. So there. previous | next |
