Character Profile: Shannon is one girl that is always on the move. From cheerleading in junior high to summer theater to National History Fairs, Shannon Freemont never misses a beat. However, the death of a close friend back on New Year's Eve in 1999 (before the series started) sent her into a deep depression that eventually led to drug usage, with her "bookie" being the sneering Jakoby Grier. After much fighting between the two, Jakoby eventually revealed her secret, which caused an uproar in Shannon's life. She attacked Jakoby later on with intent on killing him, but Marlo walked in just in time. Marlo's now holding that incident over Shannon's head to get Shannon to help her snag Kendall Hart, and, though Shannon doesn't want to, agreed to do so for fear of her parents' disappointment.
