    AUTUMN WHISPERS
    By Jimmie R. Pennington

    Autumn whispers

    of summer passing,

    of gentle days,

    of children laughing;

    of frost swirling from

    old barn roofs

    kissed by a smiling sun.

    Autumn whispers

    of leaves dancing

    on a gentle breeze,

    of hearts prancing

    of young loves -  and old;

    of hills painted in

    crimson and gold.

    Autumn whispers

    of cozy talks

    of flickering hearths;

    of unhurried walks

    of crisp blue skies

    of new beginnings; and

    the miracle of life.
