BEYOND THE GRAVE
First Broadcast: 29th March 1998
| Preparations
are going on at the Corn Exchange for the Amadeus play. With Joyce
playing a part in the play, Barnaby helps with the scenery but is soon
dragged away to investigate the murder of Agnes Gray, who's body is
found floating in the river. A trip to Agnes' cottage shows that her house was broken into recently, and that her car has gone missing. Troy finds a letter donating a generous amount of money to an animal charity. |
| Agnes' Will mentions that she wanted to share out her money between various charities, and a letter has been left for her cousin, Esslyn Carmichael, who is also working on Amadeus. |
| The
play works with several villagers, each with secrets to hide. Esslyn's
latest wife, Kitty, has been caught by Esslyn's ex-wife Rosa having an
affair. The play is directed by pompous old Harold Winstanley and his
poor wife Doris. The night of the play proves to be disastrous, but is forced to end when the props are sabotaged and a safe switch razor blade is replaced, meaning the end of life for one person taking part...
