When I first began to build A Witch's World, my intention was to claim my own space on the internet and create a place for people to learn a little about me. With the religious faith of Wicca being a major part of who I am, it became clear that my energies would be better directed at giving people a chance to understand the religion of Wicca, and in the process, provide an opportunity for new seekers to begin their own journey into the Craft. Since making the decision to reorganize, you could say that A Witch's World has truely been born (or reborn, as the case may be), and is growing by leaps and bounds. It is a project that is very dear to my heart. I hope that others will enjoy A Witch's World, and use it as it is intended to be used...a chance to gain valuable knowledge and unite us all through peace and understanding. What does A Witch's World have to offer? This website has been designed with multiple purposes in mind. First, it is for like-minded individuals who are looking for a way to share a common bond, the Art of the Craft and Love of the Goddess and God, providing a Wiccan Community that allows active participation. Second, Pagan religions are widely misunderstood by the general population, so we seek to educate, hoping to dispell any myths and negativities surrounding Wicca and other forms of Paganism. Third, A Witch's World provides a knowledge base for those wishing to begin their own journey. And last but not least, it's my way of sharing my personal journey into the magickal world of Wicca, as I share my many different experiences while organizing my thoughts in a way that others may benefit from it. Every page in A Witch's World symbolizes my spiritual growth. Whatever your reason's for being in A Witch's World, my hope is that you will find this website to be accommodating in all aspects. If there is something that you are searching for, and you can't find it here, please let us know. Feedback is appreciated. First and foremost...A Witch's World is designed to be experienced as a journey. It is not meant to be presented as a business, or "quickie" information site. Just as discovering your own spirituality is a journey of life, A witch's World follows that same life tradition. Please do not ask me to do on-line readings, spells, or any other forms of magick for you. First, I am not comfortable with helping others as of yet, and second, I am of the opinion that magickal work of any kind is a very personal thing which requires an inner passion that just can not be conveyed over the internet. The most successful magick is accomplished by the individual with the greatest need to see its end results. In other words, your ideas and my ideas could be two completely different things, and I can't read your mind, so don't ask me to try. It would only be a drain on both our energies and the end results, most likely, would not satisfy you. If, at anytime during your visit, you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. There is a "Mail" button on every page, you only need to click on it. Please understand that I do not pretend to have all the answers. I do not go by any false pretense of being a qualified teacher, as I am still learning myself. I do, however, consider myself qualified to share, as are we all. When I am unable to answer your questions directly, or feel that a search effort may be more beneficial on your part, I will guide you towards the best resource I know of to help you find your answers. These resources may include books, possibly another website, or any other means that we may have access to at the time. One more thing...I realize that not everyone who "stumbles" into A Witch's World will agree with my practices and beliefs. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I would never try to deny anyone their right to free thinking. Yet it needs to be known, right here, right now, that rudeness, spaming, flaming, or defamation of character WILL NOT be tolerated because this website was not created for battle. I hold no grudge if you find that you do not agree with our belief systems. I simply ask that if you wish to debate my beliefs with me, that you be willing to become informed. A Witch's World found it's beginning on WebTV, and continues its journey on a personal computer. For those of you who are using WebTV, I understand the pitfalls that one can occasionally run into when viewing Non-WebTV webpages. I have tried to take this into consideration while continuing the creation of this site. However, many of the pages contain the use of JavaScript, which sometimes shows up as the nasty little "WebTV Bug". If at any time you load a page that does not look right to you (gray background, links not working, graphics not showing up, etc...), it may mean that you have contracted this "bug". Not to worry! This simply means that the page misloaded, and you will need to reload the page (Cmd + R a few times). If you find that this is happening to you on a regular basis, please let me know and I will see if it might be something that can be corrected on my end. A Witch's World was first created on a WebTV unit, which utilizes Microsoft Internet Explorer. While I also have a personal computer, and am able to make a few adjustments to accommodate both PC and WebTV user's, there is still a matter of the many different browers that exist on the market today. You may find it beneficial to you to download the WebTV Viewer. While many have found this unnecessary, it may allow you to experience A Witch's World as it was originally meant to be viewed if you find you are having difficulties. For more information on the WebTV Viewer Copyright is a very important issue on the internet. People are always assuming that just because something is "on" the internet, it makes all things public domain. This is not at all the case, so I have taken the liberty of including the following links* so that you may gain an understanding about Copyright Laws and Infringement. (*Please note that I did not write the material contained in these links, and their authors are not associated with A Witch's World in any way. I have placed these links here strictly for information purposes.) 10 Big Myths About Copyright Explained United States Copyright Office / Library of Congress Every page in A Witch's World is Copyright Protected. I am aware that this does not void copyright to those items, but I assume that permission has been granted for their use on non-commercial websites. **Note: The information contained herein about Copyright protection was gathered through the Copyright Information Links provided above. Lately there have been many lawsuits, due to copyright infringement, which have been pursued by the music industry. Shortly after I began hearing about these lawsuits, I started hearing about the inclusion of midi files being used on websites. I then came across a website with information on this subject, which I have included for you here: Also see: Due to all the current lawsuits being pursued, A Witch's World has chosen to be a silent website. Personally, this makes me very sad. Music should be created for all to share and enjoy, for music is, afterall, the universal language. However, since I have no control over these money hungry entities, and because I would really rather not end up in court, might I recommend putting in your favorite CD, or turning up the volume of your radio while you visit A Witch's World. : ) When I am able to find a safe, legal, and affordable way to add sound to this website, you will be the first to know. (Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I believe music would really add to the ambiance of A Witch's World) Thank You for Visiting! Happy Browsing & Bright Blessings! |
