Mirama's Shadowdaggers

(Illusion/Phantasm)

Level : 3
Range : 30 yards
Components : V,S,M
Duration : Instantaneous
Casting Time : 3
Area of Effect : One dagger
Saving Throw : Special

This spell uses material from the the plane of shadow to form semi-real illusions of one or more daggers. After casting the shadowdaggers spell the wizard throws a dagger at his target with no penalties for range. This action causes a number of semi-real duplicates to form in the air, similar to the thrown dagger. The total number of duplicates formed is equal to one plus one for each two levels of the caster. The wizard rolls to hit its target at normal to hit probability. If the target is hit, roll for damage. The target may then make a saving throw versus spells. If the target has been hit by the real dagger, add the result from the base damage as a penalty to the saving throw. A failed saving throw means that the illusionary duplicates do 1d4 damage to the target per duplicate. If the saving throw succeeds, only 1 point of damage for each duplicate is done. A magical dagger of any kind adds a +1 bonus to the damage done by each of the illusory daggers for each magical "plus". The damage inflicted is partially illusory and can therefore not kill an opponent that is brought below 0 hit points, but forces a system shock roll instead. The material component is the dagger thrown, which is consumed at the end of the round.

Mirama's Bullete

graysheet_rightcorner.gif (138 bytes)

(Illusion/Phantasm)

Level : 5
Range : 30 yards
Components : V,S
Duration : 1 round/level
Casting Time : 5
Area of Effect : One wall or floor
Saving Throw : Special

At the moment of casting this spell, the caster uses material from the plane of shadow to shape a semi-real illusion of a Bulette. The Bulette will seem to enter through a wall or floor designated by the caster, if within range. This is accompanied by a thunderous sound of falling rubble and clouds of illusionary dust. The wall reverts back to it’s original state after the spell duration has ended.
Those viewing the illusionary Bulette are allowed to disbelieve as per normal illusions, although there is a -3 penalty to the attempt. The Bulette performs as the real monster with respect to Armor Class and attack forms and has maximum (i.e. 72) for a Bulette. Those who believe in the Bulette suffer real damage from it’s attacks.
Those who make their saving throws see the Bulette as a transparant image superimposed on a vague, shadowy form. This Bulette has it’s Armor Class worsened by 4 places and has only 50% (i.e. 36) of it’s normal hit points.
