Dom had come to the conclusion that he couldn't sleep by himself.

It was completely impossible. No matter which position he was in, what he was wearing or even whether or not he was clinging to Elijah's pillow in a failed attempt to convince himself that it was actually Eljiah and not just a bag full of feathers, he just couldn't seem to get himself to fall asleep.

It was like without Elijah there the bed had become to big for one person. He blamed it on the fact that it had been well over six months since he had been forced into this kind of situation. Not that it was a bad thing, he slept better with Elijah's body intermingled with his own.

It's just he wanted to go to bed early. Because the earlier he went to bed, the sooner it would be morning and the sooner it was morning the soon Elijah would be home with him. So he forced his eyes shut, clung to Elijah's pillow and bared his face into it, smelling Elijah on it.

Ten minutes later he was still awake. "Damnit," he mumbled to himself, pulling himself out of bed. Maybe a beer or two will help, he thought as he stumbled across the room and out into the open loft which, like the bed, now seemed far to big for just one person.

He quickly grabbed one from the half emptied fridge and sat down at the counter. He was just taking his first sip when the phone rang. He debated whether or not to answer it, and chose to let the machine pick it up. After four rings which echoed threw out the loft, the answer machine picked up.

"You've reached us. Leave a message" it played as Dom stared at it, beer bottle pressed to his lips. There was silence for a minute and Dom turned away, assuming whoever it was had hung up.

"Dom, you there?" Elijah voice asked. "Guess not, you're probably out having a life or something..."

"I'm here," Dom said quickly as he pressed the silver cordless phone ("it doesn't match anything in the loft!" Elijah had complained. "But it's silver! Come on, it's awesome. All shiny and shit! We have to get it!" Dom had begged.) as a small smile spread across his lips.

"Hey baby," Elijah said, his voice quickly cheering up, "I didn't wake you did I?"

"Nah, couldn't sleep. Place is too big without you," Dom explained, taking a quick drink of his beer. "So, how's New York treating you?"

"Like shit. The plane was late, we couldn't get a taxi and there was no new hotel room sex with you," Elijah said, his voice softening to a whisper at the last part, "I wish you were here."

"So do I, baby. I miss you," Dom agreed. "At least it's only for one night."

"Still wish you were here," Elijah said.

"We've already established that," Dom laughed, his eyes catching the framed picture of him and Elijah on the table. He picked it, and stared into Elijah's blue eyes. Camera's could never do justice to his eyes, you had to stare into them yourself to truly understand how deep and beautiful they truly were. "You do the interview yet?"

"Not yet, it's live remember?" Elijah asked. Dom nodded as he placed the picture frame back down. He had forgotten that it was some 'hot new talk show.' that aired live every night. The live part was supposed to make it seem more desirable or something. They claimed nothing was rehearsed and the actors had no ideas what kind of questions were going to be asked of them.

Elijah's public relations had received a ten sheets of questions asking her, the pr bitch as Dom so nicely referred to her as, which one's were appropriate. Then Elijah had rehearsed all his answer. Might as well be taped, Dom had said and Elijah agreed. But hey, if it helped the ratings...

"Dom, you there?" Elijah asked, pulling Dom out of his trance. "Yeah, I'm here," he replied.

"Good to know. You gonna watch the show tonight?" Elijah quickly asked.

"Why?" Dom inquired, as he pulled at the wrapper of his beer bottle.

"Just 'cause. I want you to watch," Elijah said. "Please."

"Fine," Dom answered. He could never say no to Elijah, it was his one weakness. ("Admit it, Elijah has you whipped," Billy had stated during his last visit.) "I love you."

"Love you too," Elijah whispered before hanging up the phone. Dom sat the phone down, took a deep breath and walked across the room to turn the tv on. He didn't understand why Elijah wanted him to watch the interview so badly. He knew how much Dom hated them.

It was one thing for them not to be able to run around screaming out there love for each other. He got that, Elijah wasn't ready to come out yet. He could wait, he loved him enough for that. But having to watch interview and after interview of Elijah talking about how he was single and hadn't found 'the one' yet hurt like a bitch.

He turned the tv on and settled down into the couch. Elijah was just walking on stage as the crowd cheered ("What's the point of those applause signs anyway. Are they afraid the audience will get confused if they don't tell them what to do and start booing?" Dom had asked, causing Elijah to break into laugh during there last trip to a talk show)

I should be there, he thought as he listened to Elijah answer staged question after stage question. He had always gone to New York with Elijah before. God, he went everywhere with Elijah. He should be there, back stage waiting for him to finish off the pointless questions and then going back to the hotel to fuck him senseless.

But the pr bitch had decide the rumor of his and Elijah's relationship was getting to big and the idea of them traveling together was more fuel for the fire.

"So, are you seeing anyone at the moment?" the annoying host asked Elijah. This was the part that Dom hated. It had been bad enough before, when Elijah had to shake his head and explain that he was either to busy to get involved with anyone or that he just hadn't found the right girl.

But pr bitch had also decided that it was time Elijah started to hint that there was a girl in his life. She figured the fact that he kept saying he was single wasn't helping "those horrible rumors," as she put it. She had even written out a mini-speech for Elijah. Even Dom had it memorized 'cause she forced Elijah to actually practice it. "You have to get this right! We're not joking around."

Dom watched the tv in silence as Elijah nodded his head. "Why the Hell does he want me to watch this?!" Dom asked the big, empty loft.

"So, you gonna give us the juicy details?" the host encouraged, causing the audience to laugh and Elijah to smile. God, Dom thought, he's beautiful. It wasn't a new thought, but at the moment it was like he was looking at Elijah for the very first time. He felt that detached from him at this moment, like some teeny bopper girl sitting at home watching her teen heartthrob admit to having a girlfriend.

"Do I have to?" Elijah jokingly complained, as scripted, and followed up with a laughter.

"Yes," Mr. Annoying host demanded and Elijah nodded, as if he was giving in. "Come on, tell us who it is!"

Dom watched as Elijah looked straight into the camera, smiled and said "Dominic Monaghan. I'm in love with Dom."

For a second Dom sat breathless on the couch. Elijah continued on, talking to the host as the audience sat in shock. The pr bitch was probably freaking out backstage and he was sure the phone would be ringing soon. But none of that mattered.

No more hiding, no more lying, no more anything.

Elijah's was his. He was Elijah's.

And everyone knew. 1
