Nappa didn't betray them. Fortunately enough he just had to somehow hide the truth only once, telling when asked that the boys had gone training somewhere else. They were back to the boring life they had fled. Only one thing had changed that was able to get some new interest in the prince's life. He just couldn't help remembering that sight at the waterfalls and the feeling of Raditz's hand on his shoulder, then. And the heat in his body that came from this. It was something new, something disturbing: he was suspecting that this strange feeling was simply desire.

He felt the need to be close to Raditz, to feel this warming and comforting hand on him again. But what was more disturbing was the fact that Raditz seemed to be ignoring it. The older boy was back to respect-mode again, as though the complicity between them had suddenly disappeared. They were back at the Palace, they were not equals anymore. No more young gods, only a prince and his favorite warrior. Sometimes Vegeta felt the need to shake Raditz and order him to behave as friendly as before. But Raditz seemed to always turn his eyes from the prince's face, as though not daring to meet his eyes.

He had to do something. He had to talk to Raditz. He was rather late but he knew his friend wouldn't dare commenting that fact and throwing him out, so he simply entered the other boy's bedroom to find him peacefully sleeping, the sheet tangled around one leg. He watched the boy's chest moving with his breathing and hesitated. He had to talk to him, but watching him felt so good. He realized his heart was beating faster and felt this strange heat filling his body again. Shaking his head he walked further into the room and called his friend's name. The boy didn't move. Watching closer, Vegeta saw he was smiling.

"Stop pretending you're asleep! Why didn't you answer?"

"Because it's late and you should be sleeping. As I was doing when you opened that door. What do you want?"

"Why are you avoiding me?"

"I'm not. What are you talking about? We're still doing everything we used to do together."

"You're avoiding my eyes. You're not looking at me anymore."

"You're wrong. I'm just trying not to look at you too much."

"What's the problem with you?"

"I'm having... strange thoughts. That's all. Go back to bed, I'm tired."

Raditz turned his back to the prince. Vegeta stood silently in the room for a while, watching Raditz's back and wondering what was wrong with him. Maybe they should go back to the Elves' village. Maybe then Raditz would be the same as before. He went back to his room and decided to plan their new trip in the morning.

Vegeta had been right. Raditz was more friendly away from their planet. Maybe he was fearing some kind of punishment there, but he still couldn't understand what Raditz had done wrong that could lead to it. They went for their secret little trips three more times. Kakarotto and Broli were still not allowed to follow but Raditz was getting less and less insistent about taking his little brother with them.

As they arrived in the village for the fifth time, music and laughs welcomed them. They hadn't been there for a while and thought they had missed a baby girl's birth. They stopped the first person on their path.

"What's going on?"

"It's the Spring celebration, Flowers-Day. Come to the square."

They followed the man and saw a little group of people gathering around a line of young men waiting in front of the priest. As they approached a few people moved to let them pass then almost shoved them at the head of the line. Two giggling young boys dropped flowers crowns on their little gods' heads. The priest said something they still couldn't understand then one of the boy told them they had to kiss. Raditz didn't wait and grabbed Vegeta, kissing him passionately in front of the cheering crowd. Vegeta glared at him and was about to remove his crown when someone stopped him.

"No! The newlyweds must keep their crowns until sunset!"

"Newlyweds?"

He turned to look at Raditz with a very pissed expression.

"You knew it! Why did you let them do this?"

"I didn't know what they were doing, but if I had known, I still would have let them marry us."

Leaving other couples of newlywed boys behind them, he dragged the young prince to the forest, leading him to their new favorite place. They sat there and Raditz kissed him again.

"Why, Raditz?"

"Are you sure you don't understand why I would have let them marry us?"

"Raditz, we can't-"

"Who said we can't love each other? Is it because you're the prince and I'm only a low class boy?"

"Of course, not! And I know how good you are at fighting, you're not a low class. You know the reason."

"Your father..."

Vegeta leaned and rested his head on Raditz's chest and sighed.

"I love you, Raditz."

The older boy stopped breathing for a while. He had thought he would never have the chance to hear that. Vegeta slowly raised his head and looked at Raditz with too serious eyes.

"Raditz, I'm the prince of Vegetasei. I'm the heir to the throne. It means I'll have to marry a girl one day to have a child destined to be the new heir. I'm not free to do as I please. I can't marry you! And you know damn well that this kind of relationship is hardly tolerated on our planet nowadays."

"So... what just happened means nothing to you..."

"We are different people, here. We're gods, we're expected by this people to be in love, and our wedding has just been celebrated. Yes, it means something to me. But I'm not allowed to think it means something when we're at home."

"I feel more at home here, now."

"I think we should go back to our planet..."

"Why? We've just arrived... and I want to love you..."

Vegeta got worried as he wondered what exactly Raditz had meant by this but before he could ask warm lips were on his again. Nothing else was important then. He was with his love and his love was kissing him. He let Raditz's tongue slip in his mouth for a gentle exploration. How he loved this. It was a shame he wasn't allowed to let it happen more often. He wrapped himself around the older boy, arms, legs and tail gripping him. He moaned softly as they were still kissing, until Raditz's hand slipped down his back. Vegeta jumped back, his own hand on his ass in an attempt to protect it.

"What are you doing?"

To Raditz relief, the young prince's voice was showing embarrassment instead of his expected anger. Raditz rose and placed the falling flowers crown back on the other boy's head.

"I didn't want to frighten you. I just wanted to show you my love."

"I know what you had in mind! Do you think I'm stupid because I'm much younger than you? I know what two males can do together."

"As your father certainly never asked your teachers to teach you that, I think Nappa did. Does he have male lovers?"

Vegeta didn't try to push his friend away when the boy took him back in his arms. The prince hid his face in Raditz's chest, trying to stop giggling as he pictured the situation Raditz had suggested. As a soothing hand rubbed his back he relaxed and decided to just enjoy the feeling.

"I won't force you to do it, you know. There are many ways to show one's love and give pleasure."

"I've only been taught the pleasure of winning a fight."
