Fallen Angels - Chapter 2: Memories.

Gael was about to catch the prey he was following for a whole hour when another predator appeared from nowhere, stealing the mortal from the furious vampire. Gael was beside the black haired being in no time and grabbed him, forcing him to turn to face him. What he saw amazed him. Under the light dirt that covered it, a beautiful face was imploring him. Long deep-blue eyes were reflecting pain and fear. The black locks that fell on this face, long on its right side and strangely much shorter on its left side, were tangled but seemed silky. Gael felt his anger slowly leaving him.

"It's mine! I have been chasing him for an hour!"

The other vampire looked at him with the same imploring eyes. A soft, half broken voice escaped from his lips.

"I'm starving."

Gael hesitated one second. Then he bit the now unaware mortal's neck, beginning to feed. The starving vampire yelped.

"No, please! Have mercy! Let me drink..."

"Sssh! Wait, I'll give you something that will be better for you."

Gael went on his feast before the poor other vampire's eyes. When it was all over he turned at him and gave him his throat. The weak creature looked at him questioning.

"Drink! It's stronger. You'll feel completely healed, after."

He went closer to the younger vampire who shyly moved forward.Sharp fangs plunged in the offered throat, hungry mouth sucking on the healing fluid. Gael was stroking the long black hair, wondering how it could still seem like silk being in such a poor way. He was enjoying the delightful sensation of the bite, mouth half-open.

The young vampire was amazed by the power of that blood. He had never drunk from another of their race before. It was heady. Then he withdrew from the wounded flesh and remained there in silence. Gael looked at him, wondering why he was still there, what he was waiting for.

"I think you should go home, now, and have a bath."

"I don't know where to go. I can't remember where's the place where I lived before... before..."

He burst into tears. Gael's heart melted. He took the young man in his arms, gently stroking his tangled hair, rocking the frail body. The boy pressed against the protective body.

"First, tell me what's your name."

"Adonis."

Gael stared at him, amused.

"Hey, that's really my name, don't laugh."

"Your parents were far-seeing... Well, what happened to you? Look at yourself, you're in such a shape!"

"I killed the woman I love."

His voice had been perfectly calm, suddenly, his face expressionless. Worried, Gael dragged him along.

"Come on, since you have nowhere to go and it's getting late, I suggest that you come home with me."

The young man followed him without arguing. Once in the safety of the house, he relaxed. The warm water of the bath finished to reshape him. Half a hour later he was feeling refreshed. He was now dressed with a clean long white shirt Gael had lended to him. His wet black hair were now combed out and contrasted with the pure white of the shirt. He was glittering, captivating. Gael was hypnotized by his beauty. Hardly pulling himself from his contemplation, he guided his guest to the room he got ready for him.

"Try to get some sleep, you'll feel better tomorrow, and we'll see what I can do for you. Good night!"

"...Good night..."

Gael went to bed quickly, leaving his guest in his room. But as he was somewhere between waking and sleeping, a silhouette went by his door and moved close to his bed. Awaking suddenly he saw Adonis standing there, staring at him. The sight of this half-naked beauty in his room in the middle of the night made him feel suddenly burning.

"I... I can't sleep. I'm afraid alone in the dark. Can I stay here with you?"

Without a word Gael pulled the sheets and made room for him, careless of the fact that he used to sleep naked. Adonis curled up against him like a child and fell rapidly asleep. Gael stared at him for a few minutes, thinking of how sweet it would be to make love to this amazing boy. Then he followed him into sleep.

Gael woke up in the morning with the feeling that someone was insistently watching him. He opened his eyes to see the bewitching smile of Adonis. The young man seemed grateful, but there was another expression on his face. Gael found out at the same time he felt the soft hand on his arm, traveling to his shoulder, then his neck, then his cheek. It was the sensual caress of a lover, anything friendly had disappeared then. Adonis moved his face close to Gael's, their lips nearly touching. Gael then realized that the boy had undressed before his waking. Adonis whispered a light "Good morning" and pressed his lips against Gael's mouth. Soft, but hot and hungry. Gael's arm encircled the boy's waist, forcing him to get closer. Their mouths opened, letting their tongues explore inside, finally mixing, twisting, an endless kiss that let them out of breath.

Adonis's hand was now finding its way on Gael's chest, moving slowly in light circles, stopping on a nipple. His tongue replaced his fingers there, causing sparks of pleasure in Gael's body and brain, letting him unable to move. He sighed and moaned, the other boy's lips going lower on his body, kissing, licking, teasing. His hand reached Gael's erection and began to stroke it gently, encouraged by the sighs and groaning of the vampire. He only released him the time lower his head to take him in his mouth, first licking the tip of the length, then following to its base, his throat relaxing to engulf him. Then he started to move his head up and down, his tongue drawing circles on the hot flesh. Gael breathed faster, groaned louder, his hands gripping Adonis's head, his fingers tangled in his hair. Suddenly he pushed the boy's head from him, laying him down on his back, and kneeled between the boy's legs. Adonis yelped, surprised. Gael grabbed the boy's ankles, setting them on his shoulders.

Adonis's thighs were soft and hot under Gael's hands. His fingers were travelling toward his buttocks. His left hand stopped on the boy's shaft while his right hand slided between his cheeks. He licked his fingers and started stroking the tight entrance of the boy's body. Adonis's back arched and a long moan came from his throat, pain and pleasure mixing from his groin to his brain when the fingers invaded him. Gael's fingers were playing in him and on him, rubbing, stretching, stroking, pleasing. Then he withdrew them, causing a groan of protest from Adonis, followed by a moan where were mixed pleasure and pain when he thrust into him, his left hand still slowly stroking the young vampire's shaft, his right hand caressing his hip.

The rhythm of his thrust sped up, Adonis's hips lifting, following the movement, trying to increase the pressure of Gael's hand on his length. They were both gasping loudly. Adonis managed to untangle his legs from Gael's shoulders to lower them, locking them around the vampire's waist. His hands let go of the sheets they were grasping and traveled to his lover's back, his long nails scratching him, leaving blood-red trails. Gael's lips were now on the young man's chest, licking and biting his nipples, then his neck, and finally his lips. They kissed again, moaning in each other's mouth when they came. They were panting, feeling full and pleased.

Obviously they enjoyed their companionship, though Adonis's feelings soon turned from physical need to true love, for the younger vampire had settled there for years. What could have amazed many mortals is that every day in all those years was a new source of discovery and happiness in their couple, even after more than fifty years. But time means nothing for a vampire. Yet this peace of mind was sometimes broken by Adonis's sudden melancholy, asking strange questions about the reason of their existence, calling himself parasite. Sometimes he disappeared and Gael had to search the city for a few days to bring him back home. But this state of mind never lasted long.

Then one day it was all over. Gael was painting in his workshop when Adonis came in, turned round him, and looked him in the eyes with a strange calm expression. Then he talked.

"Gael, I don't love you anymore."

He turned his back and left the room, left Gael speechless and still wondering when he had seen this expression on his face before. He realized it was when they met, when he coldly told him he had killed his beloved. And now it seemed that he'd killed his feelings, his love.

The day after, he was gone. Gael was alone when he woke up, and there was no trace of someone having lived here with him, as if he was awaking for an unnaturelly long dream. Adonis had vanished, simply.

Untill he came back three weeks ago, brought back from his memory by the psychic spying of his friend Kimiko, and back to his life by the obstinate searching of Sam. The combination of the two girls' curiosity and Adonis's own when they contacted him has resulted in this surprising comeback... and it seemed that for Adonis nothing had changed in their relationship, as if he had not been absent for more than one century.

But a lot of things had changed.

Fallen Angels - Chapter 3: Life goes on.

Jon was sitting at his desk, working. Now he had to get his lessons at home from all the books Dash provided him. Gael entered the room, carefully silent. Jon started up when he felt an arm wrapping around his shoulders and a hand slipping in his shirt. The boy sighed and slid his fingers in Gael's hair, who was now exploring his neck with his lips.

"Enough working, darling. Come with me."

"I've not finished with this lesson yet! Dash will be furious if I stop now."

"I'll deal with him."

"But..."

"All right! Get up."

Jon looked at his serious face and obeyied, surprised to see the vampire sit on the chair.

"Now you can sit down and go on with your work."

Jon sat on the man's knees. Soon he realized his mistake. Work was definitely over for him today. How could he concentrate with those hands and lips exploring his body? Oh, God! He liked it so much! Once again a fight started in his mind, his senses versus his too straight education. And once again he surrendered, unable to decide, and concentrated on the work of Gael's fingers, dangerously traveling down his belly to his groin. Jon felt uneasy.

"Gael, when will Adonis move to his new house? I'm tired of sharing you with him, of having him always in my way."

It has been a neutral way to make Gael stop his embarrassing exploration.

"HIS house? It's not his, it's ours: yours and mine. I bought it, I'm only letting him live there for now. When he'll go away, and he'll do someday, I know him well, I'll take you there and we'll end our lives in our little nest. Happy, darling?"

"You seem to have forgotten a little detail: I'll die, you won't."

"..."

"What the hell are you doing?! Not only you hinder Jon from working but you try to pervert him too? Let him go!"

Dash had came silently, as ever, but too late to understand the real situation. Jon hardly retained his laughter and came near the wizard. Gael smiled roguishly, but Jon's words were echoing in his mind: "I'll die, you won't". He knew a way to change this but Jon won't bear becoming like those who slaughtered his parents, his only family. Unfortunately it was the only solution he knew to keep him alive: drink his blood, make him live forever with him... and make his life intolerable.

Gael's mood came back to normal in the evening. It was late and Adonis was now asleep in his arms. Looking at him he wondered how long he would have the chance to keep Jon with him the same way: young, handsome and healthy. Sadness spread over his soul once again. He had to find a solution to the problem. And to stop thinking of Jon when he was with Adonis, too... Unfortunately, sleeping didn't change anything in his saddness. His dreams were dark that night and in the morning he only remembered the uneasiness they caused him. He tried to avoid Jon that day, but all he managed to do was to hurt the poor boy who, of course, didn't understand this sudden coldness.

"I don't think I'll come."

Adonis looked at Jon with disappointment. He was so happy that the boy had aggreed to come with them a few hours ago. And now, their evening out was compromised: Gael won't go without Jon and Adonis won't go without Gael... and without Jon, too.

"Darling, I really think you need to have fun."

"But-"

"It's an order!"

Jon looked at him with surprised eyes when he heard the sharp order. But when he saw the laughing eyes of the man any previous hesitation left him. Slowly he smilled at the two vampires and sighed, whispering a "okay, I'll get ready".

The Club was full as always on Saturday. Even the private room, the true club part there, was filled with most of the vampires of the city. Such place was common in big cities as they needed a place to meet. So close to those ignorant mortals! That night a big karaoke party had been put on, and this was the reason why Adonis insisted so much to go there. His moments of exuberance had always contrasted with Gael's usual calm. But tonight it seemed communicative. Though he first hesited to come, Jon was really glad to be in that crowd, usually forced to stay at home in order not to be recognised by anyone. After his parents' death, his picture had been diffused in all the local press when the police had suspected he was the murderer, his sudden missing being a good sign, to them, of his guilt. So he had to hide and all this situation was painful.

The boy was a little afraid, too. Afraid of losing Gael in this crowd, feeling vulnerable. Unlike the other mortals here, he knew who was in the next room. Gael had tried to convince him that most of the vampires he knew were kind people. Jon was still afraid and angry. The vampire couldn't blame him for it. What had been a tragedy for the boy was too fresh in his mind. He would need time, but time meant nothing for Gael.

A man was bawling on the stage. Adonis turned to Jon with a teasing smile.

"I'm sure you'll do better than him."

"You want me to show my face to all those guys? You want me trapped by the police? You want to discard me, that's it? That would let you have Gael for yourself."

"Don't be paranoiac, Jon! Half of them are drunk or drug addicts and the others won't see clearly so far. Go! Sing! Please..."

"Fucking bastard!"

Before Adonis could grab him and make him regret his words, Jon was climbing on stage. After all he was here to get some fun and he could use the occasion for something more useful. He was still affected by Gael's recent coldness and wanted to end it as soon as he could. He began to sing right in front of Gael. He chose one of his favorite songs, one they had listened to several times together. He kept his gaze fixed on the vampire while singing, soon feeling like they were all alone in the room.

"...Although we both lie close together

We feel miles apart inside

Was it somethin' I said or somethin' I did

Did my words not come out right..."

Jon tried to ignore the tears that were rushing to his eyes and kept singing. It was clear now to Gael that his behavior those last days has somehow broken the boy's heart. And it was clear that the bond between them was stronger that he had thought. Stronger than ever. He felt his throat tighten.

"...Now I hear you've found somebody new

And that I never meant that much to you..."

Jon's eyes were speaking to him, more than his song. Hearing this, Gael realized what was wrong. Adonis! So Jon believed that the tension between them came from the fact that Gael had found Adonis again, because they had come back to their previous life. No! Jon was wrong! Of course, he really liked Adonis, and he had been truly glad to see him again. But Jon was more important to him, far more. So, the boy wanted to communicate by songs instead of having a direct talk with him? Right! He was going to give him the answer he wanted.

Jon left the stage and the crowd was giving him an ovation. He looked around but Gael had suddenly disappeared. Then, coming from above, he heard this voice he had come to like so much: the vampire had replaced him on stage and he was singing for him, staring at him.

"...You're my Angel..."

That's what Gael used to call him. Jon listened to him agape. So he was wrong... Gael would never lie to him, never betray him. He knew it, he could feel it. It was in the man's eyes, in his voice. He was still his angel. And they were both suffering. But he still didn't understand why the vampire's behaviour had change that much the past few days. Gael's voice was making him shiver.

"...You're the reason I live

You're the reason I die

You're the reason I give

When I break down and cry

Don't need no reason why..."

Jon was crying silently, his tears rolling along his cheeks. Such a display of feelings from Gael was unusual. He falt a little ashamed for having doubt the man's feelings. At last the song was over and Gael was leaving stage with the same success than his friend. Jon ran to him, flying his arms round his neck, clamping his legs round his waist, and kissed him passionately. Nobody noticed them, someone else was already singing. But Adonis's knees gave way beneath him. Unfortunately he had seen them, and all his hopes had vanished. The couple was heading to the bar and he followed them. When they saw his strange expression they understood that he had seen everything. So their little secret was revealed. They looked at him and he looked at them, in a sudden hush. Before they could react he grabbed them both, crying.

"Adonis, please, stop crying. What's the matter with you?"

Gael was gently trying to calm him, but the other vampire kept crying. Gael sighed: Adonis's exuberance was unbounded! Then finally, after some more sobs, he talked.

"I love you! I love the two of you! But now I know I have no chance. Neither with one nor the other."

"What are you talking about? I've already told you that I only like girls, and Gael has never loved nobody in his life since his sister's death. You knew you never had a chance with us."

"Yet you love him, you love Gael!"

"No! I never said that. We're friends, that's all! Well, not really... But we're not lovers!"

Adonis felt a little disappointed. Deep in his heart he knew that Jon was telling him the truth. He seemed to turn all this over in his mind, and he smiled. With a last hug he left them.

"I'm going to find someone to sing with me. See you later!"

Jon looked at Gael interrogatively. But Gael was smiling, nearly laughting.

"Don't worry, he had always been like that. It's his solution to bear high depressions: he ignores the situation, or tries to forget it. Well, I guess you must be thirsty. Will you let me offer you a drink, darling?"

They started: Adonis had found some guys to go with him on stage and sing YMCA. Finally, he dared!

Note: this is not a song fic! ^_^ For those of you who, for any strange reason, wouldn't recognise the songs, here are the references. For the title: "Life goes on", by Poison. Jon's song: "Every rose has its thorn", by Poison (again...). Gael's song: "Angel", by Aerosmith. I guess everybody knows YMCA... (no? what planet are you from?^_^)
