Chapter One: Cataclysm

5-year-old Prince Vegeta walked down the hall by the nursery. He was to report to his father, King Vegeta, of any new births that had occurred. He stopped and looked through the nusery glass window. A crying baby boy and a serene baby girl were in there being cleansed.
"Two new births. A boy and a girl. I suppose I should get some information on them," Prince Vegeta said to himself. He walked into the nursery to be greeted by the doctor that was cleaning them. "Doctor." He turned around and knelt before his child prince.
"Prince Vegeta, what can I do for you today?" he asked. Vegeta smirked.
"My father would like some information on these two newborns," Prince Vegeta explained.
"Oh of course. Give me one second please." He washed his hands and grabbed some papers. "Ahh, here we are. The baby boy is Kakarot, son of Bardock. The baby girl is Kakarita, daughter of Bardock. Their mother died after giving birth to them, due to pain difficulties." Vegeta cocked his eyebrow.
"So, they are siblings?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact, they are twins. The girl, Kakarita, was born first," the doctor explicated. Vegeta's eyes widened.
"The girl was born first? That hasn't happened in a long time. Anyway, continue what you were doing. I must return to my father with this information," Vegeta ordered. The doctor bowed.
"As you wish, my prince." And with that, Prince Vegeta walked away to report to his father.

"I see you have returned, my son. Give me your report and you may return to your training," King Vegeta replied as he sat on his throne.
"Father, there have been two reported births. Kakarot and Kakarita, both children of Bardock," Prince Vegeta stated.
"Ahh, we have siblings. Excellent. What of Bardock's mate?"
"She is dead. The pain was too much for her to handle after giving birth to Kakarot," Prince Vegeta answered.
"Wait. Are you saying the GIRL was born first?" King Vegeta inquired.
"Yes, Father. I had the same reaction. Do you think she could be of use?" Prince Vegeta wondered aloud.
"I do. Have her brought to me immediately, Nappa," King Vegeta said, looking at the bulky bodyguard of the prince.
"As you wish, Sire."
"I believe I know exactly how she can be used. Soon our deals with Frieza will be cut off and we will destroy him. Then, we can finally live our lives the correct way," King Vegeta remarked. Prince Vegeta's lips twisted into that of a frown.
"Do you think we can destroy him, Father? I have felt his strength, and it is very powerful," Prince Vegeta pointed out.
"There is no use letting him take advantage of us like this. We are Saiyans, therefore, I believe we can do it. But, I do not want you to get involved, my son. Your life is much more valuable than mine at this point. If I perish, I need you to be the king," King Vegeta explained. Prince Vegeta nodded.
"I would be honored to take your position one day, Father. But, I do not wish for you to speak of your death so soon," Prince Vegeta said.
"Not to worry, my son. Things will work out." After he said this, a strange-looking creature walked into the throne room, the guards instantly bowing to him. "Lord Frieza! What an unexpected visit! What brings you here to planet Vegeta?" King Vegeta, as well as his son, both bowed.
"I bring you news, Vegeta. A meteor shower is heading this way, and there is no doubt that I alone can stop it. I suggest you get as many of your people off of the planet as possible and take refuge somewhere else," Frieza stated. Both the king and prince gave him a questioning look.
"Lord Frieza, thank you for this news. We will do just that," King Vegeta replied. Frieza nodded, smirked and walked out of the room. Not long after, Nappa walked back in with the baby Kakarita wrapped in blankets in his arms.
"I have returned, Sire, with the baby girl Kakarita, daughter of Bardock. She is in healthy condition and her power level is slightly above average for a newborn Saiyan," Nappa replied. King Vegeta nodded.
"Thank you, Nappa. Now, I want you to send Kakarot to planet Earth on a purging mission," King Vegeta ordered.
"And of Kakarita?" Nappa questioned.
"She will become princess."
"Sire?! This baby girl is to be Prince Vegeta's future mate?" Nappa wondered aloud. King Vegeta frowned.
"Just do as you're told, Nappa." Nappa's eyes widened and he handed the baby girl to King Vegeta.
"Oh! Yes Sir." Nappa bowed and rushed out of the throne room. Vegeta looked at his father questioningly.
"Father, is this girl to be my mate?"
"Yes, my son. I can feel her power deep within. She is truly a beautiful baby, is she not?" Vegeta nodded slowly in response to his father's strange question. "Now Vegeta, I want you to take Kakarita to Theria. I will be there shortly. But first, I need to take care of the things here before the meteor shower hits." Prince Vegeta just nodded slowly and the baby was set slowly in his arms. "Go now, my son, before it is too late." Vegeta nodded and rushed out of the room. "Bardock."
A man with spiky black hair appeared before him, bowing to one knee. "Yes Sire."
"Your son, Kakarot, is going to the planet Earth on a purging mission before the meteor shower hits. And your daughter's life has been put in my son's hands. She is to become princess and one day, queen." Bardock gasped and looked up at his king.
"Sire? Why is that?" Bardock inquired.
"One day you will see, Bardock. Now, I believe that Frieza lied about the meteor shower. I know him. He wants us destroyed, but not before we destroy him. I want you to lead our greatest warriors in a battle against Frieza. The others will go to Theria and immediately begin training." After he said this, a woman with dark midnight blue hair and and blood red eyes walked in and knelt to one knee next to Bardock.
"Saiyan Elite Yolina reporting, Your Highness. What can I do for you?"
"Yolina, you and Nappa will lead the rest of the Saiyans to planet Theria. I also want you to watch over my son and Kakarita. I do not know if I will live through our encounter with Frieza," King Vegeta explained. Yolina nodded and stood.
"It has been set in motion, Your Highness. Nappa and I will let no harm come to Prince Vegeta nor Princess Kakarita. You have my word." And with that, Yolina walked out of the throne room.
"Do not let our race down, Bardock. Now, let's get started," King Vegeta stated. Bardock nodded and ran out of the throne room.

Vegeta packed a few clothes and had Nappa pack some clothes for Kakarita.
"We'll get more for her on Theria, Nappa. Take our things to the pod. I will be there shortly with Kakarita." Nappa nodded and did as he was told. Vegeta picked up Kakarita in his arms, and she gurgled in response. She began to wave her hands in front of Vegeta's face. "That's enough, now. We must leave here at once." Kakarita just looked at him with her big blue eyes. Suddenly, a creature barged in the room with a gun.
"Die!" Vegeta held the princess tighter in his arms and powered up an energy blast.
"YOU'LL be the one to die today!" Vegeta yelled. He launched the energy and killed the creature in front of him. "The planet is under chaos! We must get out of here now!" Vegeta ran through the halls of the palace and finally reached his pod where Nappa was waiting.
"I thought you would never get here, Prince Vegeta. We have just gotten word of a terrible tragedy. Bardock, father of Kakarita, is dead," Nappa replied. Vegeta looked down at Kakarita, who had fallen asleep.
"Thank you, Nappa. Let's just get out of here quickly," Vegeta ordered. Nappa nodded and got into his own pod as Vegeta and Kakarita got into another one. As both pods flew off into space, Yolina walked outside onto the launch pad and watched them go. She crawled into the other pod and followed them.

King Vegeta held his bloodied arm in pain as he walked down the hall of his palace. "I...must reach...my son."
"Vegeta." King Vegeta turned around and saw Frieza standing there.
"What is...going on here, Frieza? I thought...thought..."
"You thought wrong, my dear Saiyan monkey. There is no meteor shower that is going to exterminate your planet from existence. I will be the one to do that," Frieza replied with a cackle.
"But...why? We have done everything you wanted..."
"I will give you an explanation before you die. Your race is getting too powerful, and it poses a threat to my desire of ruling the universe. I wouldn't want your monkey race trying to disrupt that desire, Vegeta, Frieza explained. He powered up an energy blast. Many of your Saiyans have died thanks to my men. I already sent one of my men to your son. He should be dead by now. King Vegetas eyes widened.
No! My son...and Kakarita! Vegeta growled. You MONSTER! He powered up an energy blast and launched it at Frieza. A cloud of smoke surrounded the creature, and Vegeta smirked.
If you thought you could defeat me, you were wrong. I said you were becoming stronger, but I never said you WERE stronger than I, Frieza replied as the smoke faded. Vegeta gasped as the energy ball in Friezas hand started to grow. Goodbye, King Vegeta. It is time to meet your son in the other world! And with that, he launched the energy and King Vegeta disappeared in a bright explosion of light. Well, now that I have wiped out the royal bloodline of the Saiyans, I can destroy the rest of the planet. Frieza walked back down the hall and disappeared.

Vegeta held his head in pain, but making sure he didnt lose his grip on the sleeping princess. Something has happened...I just know it. Kakaritas eyes opened slowly and she started to cry. Whats the matter, Kakarita? Tears streamed down her face and her cheeks turned red. Whats going on? Now I know that something has happened. The space pods communication terminal began beeping. Vegeta pushed the button and Nappas voice came over the static.
Prince Vegeta?
Yes Nappa?
I am terribly sorry, but I have just gotten word from Yolina that Planet Vegeta was destroyed by the meteor shower. We are all thats left, except for the ones who got to Theria before it blew.
I knew something like this was going to happen. So, Kakarita and I are now King and Queen? Vegeta asked.
Well, only if you want to take the responsibility, Sire. Yolina and I have orders from your father to make certain that you and the princess grow up under harmony.
That wont be a problem, Nappa.
Also, Yolina suggests that we do not tell Frieza of our whereabouts.
Agreed. If we did so, he would discover Kakaritas existence. Suddenly, a thought struck the prince. Nappa, did Kakarot depart from the planet before it was destroyed?
Yes Sir. We immediately got him off of the planet, so Frieza should not know of his existence either.
All right. Lets just get to Theria. It will be our home for awhile.
As you wish, Sire.
Vegeta looked down at Kakarita and sighed. "I sure hope Frieza never discovers you exist, my princess. If he does, he may not give you any mercy."
