Ruric Nye graduated from Midland in 1968 and had no idea that 35 years later he would be: without hair, married 23 years (no kids, but 3 bassets and two cats), a small paving contractor for 22 years, not speaking French well, actually trying to speak Chinese, going to church regularly for 17 years, working a lot, traveling much, still living in Ojai, still skiing and walking well. The basics such as marriage, work, faith, community are primary in my life, and I find these areas of activity occupying most of my time Other than that, live has settled down to a dull roar.
