Bg’s Bio
I never thought of myself as much of a student, and perhaps it is that glitch that keeps me working at this job. After a fairly poor start at USIU (Cal Western in SD), I did figure out what teachers wanted and was able to give it to them. I have yet to understand how Dean’s lists coincided with living in the 60’s San Diego culture. Win, Win I guess.
After college, I spent a couple of years in Mammoth enjoying the ski culture. Among other things, I worked in a restaurant and learned about cooking outside of the home. On Easter Sunday of the second season I managed to break my leg and I moved back to San Diego.
I moved in with my parents who had just built a house in North County. I began a relationship with Joanne, who had been a close friend in college. On one of my visits to Midland Carl asked me if I wanted to work at Midland. I wasn’t ready. A year later, he extended the offer again and I accepted. That was 1977. I married Joanne in December and James was born in 1983. He graduated from Midland last year and is enjoying the big city and his first year at USC.
I am looking forward to our gathering in June. Midland has been a wonderful trip, colleagues, students, family, and friends. As one who lives in a somewhat out of sight out of mind state of conscienciousness, it has been good to have a place where folks like to come back and touch base. I have enjoyed seeing many of you over the years.
