When it comes to the concept of writing, I usually don’t get excited at the idea. Writing has never really been one of my hobbies or likings. I would rather choose not to write essays, papers, journals, and portfolios, but I know that writing is a key and very important aspect which I need to go on to college and pursue a career. I consider myself to be a good writer because I have many creative ideas, which help me in writing the perfect essay. I do have some flaws though. At times writing can be boring and very tedious, but I know that with a nice finished product that I will be satisfied in the end. I have had works, which I’ve been given complements of college material work, but I have also written work, which contained many grammatical errors, which hurt my writing. I feel that writing as a whole can only help you and not hurt you because as you continue to write you can only get better.

I would say that writing could be one of my strong suits when it comes to achieving in school. When I have to write an essay, I do out effort into it and try to achieve the best writing as possible. As a writer I would consider my self a 6 out of 10. Though I know I am capable of being an 8 or 9, the problem is that I can become lazy and lethargic. The problem with writing sometimes is that I just want to finish the piece as fast as possible with a great effort as well. But sometimes that doesn’t always seem to work out for me. While rushing to get my essay done I often have spelling and other grammar errors that hurt me when it is graded. It’s these careless mistakes that I often make which hurt my writing. But for the most part I am confident in my writing and don’t really ever find myself struggling to see what I should write about. The one good thing about my writing technique is that I am full with ideas, which make it easier to write a successful essay. If I were to spend time writing rough drafts and revising my work I know that I would definitely be getting those A’s. I still get good grades but with a little more effect I could make my writing near perfect. Though I often complain when it comes to writing I feel that difficult essays bring the best out of me because I want to achieve to the fullest extent. Though I do have many ideas when it comes to writing I sometimes have problems organizing them and it takes away from what my essay could really represent if I were put together right. The reason that I took this course was for the opportunity to tune up and polish my writing skills even more. I mean I wouldn’t hurt to take a writing course in which I am able to maintain better writing skills. My expectations of this course are somewhat high. I know what I am capable of and I hope to achieve those goals. I know that this class brings a lot of work and having you as a teacher before has prepared me for what I could expect later on this semester. I know that you expect only the best from us and that you don’t like to see a negative attitude. I took this course to help be become a better writer when it comes time to write me college essay.

I am sure that I will be able to improve as a writer while taking this course and that I will try my best to achieve good grades as a writer. Though the work can be overwhelming at times, I’ll try to stay as positive as I can towards writing. Hopefully this class will be fun as well as knowledgeable this entire semester for me. I will try my best to be the articulate writer that you want everyone to try and be. I expect to succeed and learn as I continue to write. I also hope for you to be considerate with all the writing assignments given.
