How to become an A Student and not be a Nerd

Achieving success in school is a major concept that many students strive for completely attending school. But many may think that to become an A student you need to be the nerd, the one who studies for every test, the one who sucks up to the teacher everyday. However, I am the exact opposite for the most part when dealing with those stereotypes. Achieving the A in class doesn’t necessarily have to involve being the nice student all the time.

Many tactics are brought out while still being able to achieve an A in school. One key success tool to achieving the A and still not being the nerd is by using sarcasm. Sarcasm and humor can get you a long way in getting that coveted A in class. Another key aspect to achieving the A is by using procrastination when needed, along with the concept of deception. You also must have common sense and the ability to learn, but can still find ways to doze off. Therefore, you really just need to know the basics to learning and you could get by with the A.

One strategy to receiving good grades and still having fun in school is by using sarcasm. Making jokes and having the class laugh is a great way to make learning fun and lighten up a teacher's attitude. When you make learning funny, you are able to go along with the flow of information. Cracking jokes settles down the scene of learning and doesn't make it so tense and rigorous. However, one must also make sure to use sarcasm only during the appropriate moment. You never want to poke fun at your teacher, a student or a topic when he/she (being the teacher) is in a bad mood or has had enough of your class' antics. Making a joke is like a lion preparing to strike, you have to use the joke at the right moment or else your prey (being the audience) will get away or in this case lose focus. When your teacher is in a good mood and he/she were to say a word wrong, here would be the perfect opportunity to say something like, "Hooked on phonics worked for me." If you can make your teacher laugh that's a good sign.

Another strategy that many use to achieve success is using procrastination and deception all in one. Though many think that procrastination is a negative aspect that will only hurt one's grades, it can still get you the A and some leisure time. Teachers will often give you a lot of class time to complete assignments so that you don't have to do them for homework. People take full advantage of this by putting it off to the very last minute. As long as the assignment is done with your best effort, you can still achieve the A. You don't need to be the goody-goody and complete the assignment within the first couple of days. There is a reason why a teacher gives you two weeks to complete it. Procrastination is great because you save the very best, at the last moment. All you need to do is get an assignment due in two to three weeks and complete it the last 2-3 days before it is due. It is that easy.

Deception comes into this as well, and it works great most of the time. Like stated before when a teacher gives you time to do an assignment in class, but is do later in the week, but must be worked on in class, just put it off. How so you might ask. Nearly 90 percent of the time a teacher is at his/her desk while an assignment is given to work on in class. So just write completely random stuff down on your paper, so it looks like you are working on it from your teacher's eye. Then actually complete the assignment when you are at home. You still can work hard, get the A and not be the nerd who does all their assignments when given to them now. In addition, teachers in math and science classes (doesn’t work too well in English and history) will often come around to check homework that should have been completed the night early. If this teacher is like some, they only take a glance at the paper and make sure the homework in one topic with he material. So, if you don't have time to complete homework, just continue to show the teacher homework that was completed from early assignments. Some of the time the teacher never knows the difference. In addition, you can get up a 100 on your homework grade, which often count as 10 to 20 percent of a grade. You also get the benefit of the doubt if you are constantly getting good grades.

Finally but probably most important you need some common sense. You need to know the basics for what the teacher is teaching you and if you don't know a topic well you should study. Being a decent or strong writer also helps. You can't be a complete idiot for this process to work. Also only, work hard on assignment you feel you must get good grades on and breeze through everything else.

There are shortcuts and strategies for almost everything. Many others tend use them all the time even when it comes to school studies. With some common sense and unique characteristics, you can get by in school and still achieve successful grades. You don't need to be a bookworm and suck up to your teacher or be the most sincere student. Success can be achieved through humor, slacking and other shortcuts.
