Middleboro Little League 12A's played good Baseball this summer. They started off hot winning the District 7 Championship without losing a game. Then Middleboro was off to the Sectional Tournment. Middleboro's winning streak was stopped in the first game when they lost to Braintree 3-2. Middleboro would need to win 4 straight games in order to advance to the state finals. They did while beating Auburn 7-6, Braintree 7-6, and they were in the finals, needing to beat East Taunton twice. They won the first game 3-0. Then the next day, they played East Taunton again. This time they didnt hold back, winning by the Slaughter Rule 13-0. Middleboro went off to the State Finals again. They have been in the State Finals 3 of the last 4 years. This time they had to face the powerful Jesse Burkett losing there first game 7-5. Again going into the losers bracket Middleboro would need to win 4 straight again. First they beat Wellesley North 5-3, moving on to face Andover American. They won that game 8-5. Middleboro was in the State Finals Final game. They would need to beat Jesse Burkett twice. This time they couldnt get it done, losing the first game 6-2. Middleboro 12A's finished 2nd in the state. At the beggining there were over 300 teams. Middleboro 12's had a good year.
