bluefish,is a food fish that lives in the Atlantic Ocean from Nova Scotia to the southern tip of South America. Most bluefishes grow 15-24 inches long and weigh 1-4 pounds. However, bluefishes grow to almost 4 feet long and weigh over 30 pounds. The bluefish is fierce and usually hungry. It eats smaller fish and usually swims in schools. People that fish for sport enjoy catching bluefishs because they fight fiercely when hooked. (world book 1989)

How is the MIDDLEBANK doing on Bluefish:

Many of ths years bluefish were on the smaller size but they kept the Middlebank anglers on their toes. Lots of blues were chunked up at night while bass fishing and a day of porgy fishing didn't go by with out catching plenty of them. Usually the fall signals blues to head out of our area but there are still a few around.

This little blue caught off the "E" bouy, hit a
fluke rig just as Middlebank was rounding up for
another drift.
There are blues out there!
