To the teacher
The current webquest can be carried out in the following subjects: Languages and History.
Level of students: 4º ESO, 1st and 2nd Bachillerato, depending on the level and characteristics of the group, besides the needs of the teacher.
The main goals of this web quest are:
- To improve their knowledge and interest in the English language.
- To disseminate certain aspects of culture and history by opening up an enchanting fantasy world to students.
- To develop an approach that will allow pupils to learn in an inspiring way.
- To keep the learners interested and amused while learning through a challenge.
- To make them aware of their own ability to observe and investigate.
- To practice the ICT and internet possibilities to learn in a different way.
The main purpose of this collaborative work is to present a final product that will catch the eye and attention of the audience and/or the reader.
It should also work as an information source for that period, so it has to be accurate and reliable.
Tips for the teacher:
Be sure that they understand that their role may place them in conflict with another person's role.
Help them to resolve this conflict
Tell them they can write the text in first/third person singular or plural for their final product.
Remind the students that it is of no importance whether they will get “male” or “female” roles. This is a topic related to European women in the Middle Ages, so their position should be analysed from their point of view.
