Garden of friendship

The Middle Ages were a time of knights in shining armour, kings and queens, lords and ladies, glorious feasts and tournaments, wandering minstrels, vassals and serfs. Life in the Middle Ages was centred around the castle where the noble lord ruled through a system known as feudalism. The feudal lords had economic control over their lands and territories. In return for goods and services, the feudal lord gave the peasants and villagers rights to use the land and protection from armed attacks by barbarians, Vikings, and other powerful lords and their armies.

You will be working in a group of four people. Your team must obtain as much information as possible in order to design a document that helps to understand the life of women in those days (14th century).

You will visit different web sites, look for information, report your achievements to your classmates, decide on the software to be used (word, power point, frontpage...) discuss the lay-out (text, frames, images, objects, symbols, sound, ...). You may make use of some possibilities in order to show the role of women and to support/&illustrate your research: a blog, a collage, a web page, a PowerPoint presentation, or write a short story with medieval women as the characters in that event. For the following step you are meant to write a storyboard (a graphic, sequential depiction of a narrative) or film a digital video recording (about 10 minutes) with the purpose of presenting it to a television production company that has called for a contest to produce a short film about the topic.
