The purpose of this web quest is to offer an
immersion in the far away world of the Middle Ages. Imagine
that due to an error in the time machine you have landed in
the 14th century.
You don't know anything about that period and
you have to survive for a while in medieval Spain. In your
research assignment you will have some specific tasks. The
target of your study will be to analyze the way of life of
women in the 14th century. It was a period full of light and
darkness, where women didn't have either the rights or the
possibilities that they have nowadays, because society was
built in a very different way.
How much do you know about the role of women
in the Middle Ages? Which were their main activities? What
did they do in their spare time? Study/Investigate their
life-styles and the circumstances of their birth, childhood
and youth, matrimony and death. In those days there were
some jobs that cannot be found anymore.
The challenge will be to try to identify with
those women, and from that perspective do a presentation,
comparing their lives with those of women in the 21st
century.
Let's take a virtual tour through some web
sites and gain some knowledge on this topic. Later on, with
the guides that you are going to design we will be able to
visit the places you have researched and compare fiction
with reality!
I hope that at the end of this task you will
be almost an expert on the subject.
