Sarah Facemire, Titusville
The numbers: A solid back-row player, Facemire completed a strong senior
season with a club-best 463 digs in helping the Terriers finish 19-6 with a 4A
re gional berth. The 5-foot-5 libero also added 27 aces and 51 assists.
Best moment this season: Beating Astronaut in the “pink” game.

One person you would love to have a 10-minute conversa tion with: Misty
May-Treanor.
Toughest place you played/performed during high school: Astronaut and
Merritt Is land because of the high-intensity matches and huge crowds of screaming fans.
One thing you would change about your sport: I wish the libero could set
above the attack line.
One thing hanging on your room’s walls: Pictures of friends and family.
Jessi Greenberg, Holy Trinity
The numbers: A quick 5-foot-6 junior libero, Greenberg was the anchor in
the back row for the district champion Tigers. She led her squad with 520 digs,
plus added 37 aces, 30 assists and 12 kills.
Best moment this season: Beating First Academy at First Academy for the
district champi onship.

Peterson.
One thing few people know about you: I’m actually 6-feet tall.
One thing you would change about your sport: Liberos
should be able to play front row.
Paula Passmore, Merritt Island
The numbers: A 5-foot-6 senior libero, Passmore wrapped
up a sterling four-season career by leading the Mustangs to 20 wins, Cape Coast
Conference and district titles and a regional berth. A three-time first-team
all-Space Coast performer, Pass more accumulated 380 digs and 65 aces this season
and holds school career records in those categories and for games played.
Favorite movie: “Big Daddy.”
One person you would love to have a 10-minute conversa tion with: Michael
Phelps.
One thing you must do be fore you compete: Listen to my iPod, dance and get everyone ready.
One thing few people know about you: I was homecoming queen.
One thing you would change about your sport: Have the fans be allowed to cheer loud during the game.
One thing hanging on your room’s walls: My mom’s decorations from the games.
Rachel Priester, Melbourne Central Catholic
The numbers: A three-time all-Space Coast first-team player, the 5-foot-9
Priester boosted the Hustlers to 19 wins and a 3A re gional-final berth. She
finished 2008 with 200 assists, 51 aces, 423 kills and 534 digs. The senior
holds six MCC volleyball records, including 787 career kills.
Best moment this season: Beating John Carroll to reach the
Elite Eight.

Favorite book: The “Twi light” series.
One thing few people know about you: I’m a Disney fanatic.
Toughest place you played/performed in high school: John Carroll, because
their gym is small and always packed.
One thing you would change about your sport: Make it co-ed.
Stephanie Quinn, Merritt Island Christian
The numbers: A 5-foot-6 junior all-around performer, Quinn helped boost
the Cougars to district and regional titles, plus their second straight Class 1A state-tournament appearance. MIC finished 24-7 thanks to her 137 aces, 352
kills, 311 assists, 431 digs and 18 blocks. Quinn holds four school career
records and is a repeat all-Space Coast performer.
Best moment this season: Winning against Geneva at our home court in regional finals.
Favorite book: “Redeeming Love.”
Favorite movie:
The James Bond series.
Toughest place you played/performed in high school: Final Four at the
Lake land Center the last two years.
One thing you would change about your sport: I play basketball and really
like the con tact sports. So probably the fact (volleyball) is non-contact.
One thing hanging on your room’s walls: A Florida Gators volleyball poster of this year’s team.
Rachel Ratliff, Palm Bay
The numbers: A 5-foot-7 junior setter, Ratliff helped guide the Pirates to a 19-10 overall re cord and a Class 6A regional berth. Also a
member of the school’s swim team in the fall, Ratliff led her squad in aces (42)
and assists (452), plus was sec ond in kills (124).
Best moment this season: Beating Osceola.
Favorite book: The “It Girl” series.
Favorite movie: “Walk the Line.”
One person you would love to have a 10-minute conversa tion with: Ryan
Lochte.
One thing few people know about you: I play four sports: volleyball, swimming, basketball and softball.
One thing hanging on your room’s walls: Picture of Tim Te bow.
Julia Swalchick, Holy Trinity
The numbers: A 6-foot junior all-court player, Swalchick was the Space Coast’s most powerful offensive weapon. She helped lead the Tigers to
a 23-6 record with 439 kills, 222 digs, 31 aces and 20 blocks.
Best moment this season: Winning the district at First Acad emy in five
sets.
Song you are lis tening to: “Rosa Parks” by Outkast.
Favorite movie: “Elf.”
One thing few people know about you: I love to ski. I go to Utah every
year with my family.
Toughest place you played/performed in high school: First Academy because we only had a few fans to cheer us on.
One thing hang ing on your room’s walls: A lot of my older sister’s paint
ings.
Patrick Barrett, Holy Trinity, Coach
The numbers: In his first year of guid ing the Tigers, Barrett led the
program to a 2A district title win over eventual state champion First Acad emy.
Holy Trinity fin ished 23-6, reached the regional semifinals and did not lose to
any Brevard County school.
Best moment this season: After losing the first set, coming back to win
the (dis trict final) match in First Academy’s gym.
Favorite movie: “Rudy” and “Hoo siers.”
One thing you must do before you compete: Get a bottle of water.
One thing few people know about you: I was a student assistant for Texas A&M’s volleyball team.
One thing you would change about your sport: Inconsis tency in rules
between all levels of play. (For instance), college and high school rule differences regarding where you can contact the ball.
