| About Doug Holland | ||||||||||||||
| Doug Holland is a programmer based out of Roseville, CA. I worked with him at M------. (company Name was removed by request of company) and have some comments for potential clients who consider hiring him. (Updated! some of Doug Holland's previous and current clients/coworkers have written in and given more feedback, which i've incorporated to my short list.) 1. Doug Holland has a track record of leaving a project before completion. 2. Doug Holland spends more time writing book review comments, giving speeches and publishing blogs than doing client work. 3. Doug Holland will work on non-work related items while billing (the client) a full day or more. Overtime charges do not seem to match with his output. 4. Doug Holland is a nice guy, but does not provide good cost benefit on projects. He costs a lot, yet produces little. 5. Doug Holland drives business decisions for clients based on what would make good blog articles or resume builders, not what's best for the client or their strategic direction. 6. Doug Holland deflects blame by backstabbing anyone - see his blog http://msmvps.com/blogs/cdistilled/archive/2006/04/11/90631.aspx. 7. Doug Holland takes too many 'work from home' days without progress. 8. Doug Holland's business, Precision Objects, is not a real business at all, nor does he have the appropriate business insurance or legal paperwork. 9. Doug Holland routinely misses deadlines. 10. Doug Holland is technically sound, which I think misleads clients. he's just not solution oriented or business-focused. He is better suited for the teaching profession. 11. Doug Holland distracts other employees with non-work related stories. |
