New Zealand 2000...cont

Paragliding is a sport that I have been keen to try for years, but cost and time have been constraints. This trip I was determined to fly.New Zealand is one of the worlds premier flying destinations as well as being one of the least expensive to learn.  The above right and above photos are me landing after one of my first training flights. Martin from Phoenix Paragliding in Sumner, Canterbury, took me from neophyte to full pilot (PG2 license) in about one and a half months. The photo to the right is Kim nearing the ground during a one day intro training.  She mustered the courage for three consecutively higher solo flights, although her favorite part was getting back on the ground. Martin can be contacted at www.paragliding.co.nz
More paragliding pics  will be added soon.

Mountain Biking has long been a fun activity for me. I brought my bike across the ocean and Kim puchased a nice little front shock Marin bike here. Above right is taken after a steep little ride at Farewell Spit. Above is on our Mt. Taranaki ascent. At right is Whakareiki Beach near Farewell Spit
