While trekking the Annapurna, Kim and I met several people. The left top men were some Nepali guides who were very into having a good time, as can be attested by the many empty bottles on the table. This shot was taken while we were acclimatizing to the altitude in Manang.
mid left- at a police checkpoint, after asking a surly officer if he would pose for a picture, he becomes Officer Friendly.
left bottom- about four days into the trek, this little girl was all smiles and shyly but readily agreed to pose for a picture. Quite an excellent waitress for a nine year old.

The view above is (top) looking down at Muktinath, most southern town of fabled Mustang. (bottom) Looking north into Mustang from Muktinath. North of this point is restricted access as the border with Tibet is on the North border of Mustang. In fact, Mustang used to be part of Tibet, and most of the people art Tibetan in culture and physiology.

The above picture was taken after a long day of hiking into a windstorm shooting up the Jonsom valley. The town was Jonsom and I was drinking my first cup of fresh brewed coffee in weeks. I think if I ever write a book this would be the photo for the back cover
