| Cathedral at the main square in Cuzco, the capital of the Inca Empire. Unfortunately the Spainiards did just see the gold. Although the Incas had something more precious: knowledge (they were leading in astronomy, agriculture, politics, construction and more) they were behind in other areas (guns, information transmission, writing and more). Their knowledge of warfare was great for Southamerica, but way behind compared to Eurasia: They havn't seen spanish horses and black powder.
