Questions & Answers about me and chiropractic
When was chiropractic first induced into my life?
I got introduced to chiropractic through my academic advisor in high school. I was interested in the human body, working with my hands and getting a good basic education. I followed up his suggestion with an office visit to a chiropractor.
What is my opinion about chiropractic?
It is a great profession and lifestyle to be in! I grow so much with chiropractic and the appreciation from other people by helping them is very rewarding. This profession also provides me with endless opportunities that I would not have imagined possible a couple years ago. Like to travel the world. Like to have a booming practice. Like to have satisfying and meaningful work and being able to provide enough for my community, my family and myself.
How would you describe chiropractic in my own words?
Chiropractic is a triune of philosophy, science and art. Our philosophy has the premise that life is intelligent and that we have the inborn ability in our body to heal ourselves. The art is our analysis of the subluxation complex and our techniques of the adjustment to restore the neural flow from the brain to the body and even back to the brain. And the science is our education about the physiology, anatomy and its aberrations. It is the education that separates us from lay healers, technicians and therapists.
Do I see currently a chiropractor?
I get my nervous system checked once a week in the Palmer Clinics. There are three types of care: condition based care, health care and wellness care. Condition based care is when the patient needs acute, initial intensive, symptomatic care. He waited until he or she got sick. Then goes to a doctor and stops going once the symptoms reduce. But after relief the question rises: do I want to move on? Health care is about proper body function and prevention. By the ongoing correction of vertebral subluxation I keep the body functioning correctly to constantly adapt to my environment. Wellness care is beyond getting rid of dis-ease or prevention. Chiropractic becomes a lifestyle. It acknowledges that the human experience is about growth and development. I promote higher performance physically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and in relationships. It gives the opportunity to live life to its fullest potential.
Did something great ever happen to a family member or myself because of chiropractic care?
Since my parents go to their regular chiropractic appointments they feel much better and life a more active life. Both are over 50 years of age. On one of their trips with friends of the same age and profession, they were more agile and had less pain and aches. They were even the only ones able to climb into a cockpit of a military airplane. Their quality of life definitely improved!
Chiropractic adjustments also got rid of my disabling migraine headaches.
Describe something extraordinary you have done in my life.
My biggest accomplishment is probably my chiropractic career. I moved to the United States to live and study with very limited knowledge of the English language. Then I boarded the airplane with 2 suitcases and 2 phone numbers to go on a trip that changed my life. And then I managed to come up with all the money for my education with limited loans and no work permit.
What is chiropractic’s role in healthcare?
There are many different ways in taking care of a patient. The question I like better is what contributes to healthy living. Enough sleep, fresh air, good food, plenty of exercise, fresh water, good posture, a positive mental attitude and a functioning nervous system are all factors and make up a healthy lifestyle. Chiropractors can council a patient in all of those areas. And the only parameter that deals with the body is the nervous system. And chiropractors are well trained to establish the status of the nervous system, since this system controls every cell and every function of the body. Chiropractors are doctors and therefore trained to see all kind of patients, no matter where they are on the continuum of life. And if a chiropractor cannot help, he will definitely refer to the appropriate medical facility.
What techniques do I use?
Loving service is my first technique. I analyze my patients thoroughly and then I adjust them with Palmer Package (HIO, Palmer-Gonstead, Thompsen, Diversified, Barge Tortipelvis and Diversified). I have also background information in Activator Methods, Atlas Orthogonal, Upper Cervical Advanced, SOT, Nimmo Recptor-Tonus Technique and Physical Therapy.
