4-6-2004: Well, I have not gave you any news in awhile! Like anyone ever really reads this section....but I am working on updating sections of this website whenever time allows.

Lots of things going on at the stables of Mickmo here.....got 2 stories published in a major anthology. Show and Tell 2, a big 300 plus page anthology in digest form!

They lifted the ban on me at Planet Comicon because I had a bunch of people rally my return. It was a wierd thing going back to this. Because I never thought it could happen. But apperently miracles do happen and I will have to admit, it went pretty good.

Lorenzo Lamas still sucks, but everyone else was pretty good!

So, thus far, I have went to Planet Comicon 2004 and Sequence 2004 this year and the road for shows is still continuing. Kansas City Comicon looks promising. So if I go there, rest assure, I will be signing whatever you stick in front of me.

At Sequence I had released a mini-comic called Bug-Slayer 1/2 which got out to some people. That event was a blast! it was an event sponsored by the Pitch Newspaper in Kansas City.

I did an album cover for the Doom Metal band Grenouer in Russia. It is released on CD Maximum overseas and is called Presence With War. I do not know yet if it is worked into the states, but if you see it, GET IT!

And my stuff is being published on various places online like Void Pulp Online and Bushmado Web-Zine. Just type my name into a search engine and I am sure you can find it out there!

I am always busy and trying to have some fun! What more is an underground cronie like myself to do....

12-20-2003: Well I think it is time to write about my general musings of lore, so here we go!

I am still working on art, the big (small) project in the works is Bug-Slayer 1/2. It will be made available, hopefully, by the Mini-Comic Convergence in Kansas City by April 1st.

I have more projects in the works, just have to keep working on them. I have this tendence to get sidetracked by things, so we will see what I can get done and then comment on it.

Talking about my life further, I have to comment on the police state. With the exception of a few of my true friends, I am not the biggest fan of the judicial system and racist cops. It is a revolving door policy for this gestapo-like mentality. That, no matter what you do, these people are the ones to beat you down and act as if they are some sort of superior race out on taxpayer streets. It isnt right.

It is no secret that I myself had seen these evil people get rich from beating down the poor, I myself being one of the poor. Supporting evil corperations and being one sided as a result of the almighty talking dollar. Yeah it sucks!

I say support the regular guy. For it is the regular man who truly suffers from this sort of daily police brutality.

Then if you ever do want to get out of something, you have to be rich to pay off a lawyer. It is all a worked scam of the judicial system that, sometimes, you find yourself being a victim of.

They make up new rules endlessly to benefit their own discriminations and currencies. They do the same crimes as any criminal and more often get away with it because they flash behind a badge. Further glamorizing the fuzz thru the media like the local and national news and the so-called judge shows that plague us further in a police state. Nowadays it's "Your guilty, till you are proven innocent".

Because, after all, isn't the police state a part of the repression of goverment? It is more localized of course.

Tragically, it probably will not go away. The cops who bully and continually break down peoples will are also the ones in theirselves who are usually broken down and abusive.

Are there good cops? Sure! A few out of hundreds! I have yet to see more cops, detectives, judges or probation officers who dont exercise the ignorance of a blatant stereotype. I can see why some of these people are secretly using drugs and drinking. Goodness in the police state is, of course, a rarity.

With that said, you know who you are from within! If this was not the truth, I would not have said anything about it. This is my perspective and to each his own.

As they say in sex, go get some!

9-20-2003: Well it has been awhile since I wrote a whole lot of anything here, as I have been busy with things in my personal life. But I am back! No more courts for this so-called silly harassment thing, just have to put out for 2 years of light probation and seek out, of all things, a mental health evaluation. This all came about from some letters that my ex-employer didn't like.

Now I can go on with my life a little bit easier right now.....but rocky roads are still yet ahead.....but enough of spilling my guts for all to see....here is what I am working on now.....

I am working on numerous new projects. Two of which are for anthologies. The first being for the Icelandic comic Blek (Text is in Icelandic) and the second for a local Kansas City anthology called Show and Tell through Void Pulp Comics. i have yet to work on this because of the paper being scarce, but hence, it will be done!

This of course means that I am postponing Sominuus for a bit until I can actually draw it and put together more with the website itself. That comic is based off of my wierd repressed dreams and will probably be more anthology based then even Tales of Retribution. Sominuus is quite a large project, because it is both comic and website. It isn't going so well at the moment, lots of snags that i hope to get resolved one of these days...

Other that that, I am working on the Mickmo websites to make them a bit better then they were before with the kooky power of HTML! (Time allowed that is....). The gallery is worth checking out, it has a new drawing from Winston Blakely of Valiant Comics fame! You would be crazy to not check it out there at your computer there!

Another thing worth noting, my interview with the local Kansas City paper The X. Dave from the X asked lots of questions from Bug-Slayer to my other stuff relating to album and zine art and visuals in general. Not to mention my older comics.

Last but not least, check out the Gallery 5 on Continuum with Mortician and Scar Culture. Gallery 6 is soon to follow!

That is about it, yeah dude!

6-9-2003: Well I havent did a so-called news update in awhile, but here goes nothing anyway in the fields of run-on paragraphs!

Bug-Slayer 3 is off to the printers. It looks to be the wrap up of the series. This is not to say I am putting down the whole Bug-Slayer thing! Quite the contrary! I just need to do other forms of art to break the monotony. But I will promote it whenever possible, where ever I can!

I will be working on another comic, largely based off of more of my nightmares called Sominuus. I have started on website for it that will undergo construction in the future. The comic will be completely different then Bug-Slayer even in its art style.

I will be putting up new Bug-Slayer illustrations on the gallery every so often so keep you eyes peeled for that. For it is something that I just cant abandon completely. It will always be a part of me.

I am doing more of the digital art and layout for a band called Grenouer out of Perm, Russia till then. As I find myself getting back to the old Ambiance style again on occasions.

And I am working again! This time it is not for those scumbags of Hierarchy-vee! Now I work at a Price Chopper a city away doing floor crew stuff. Less money but more respect dammit!

Well I have more projects in store, just a matter of getting to them! It allows me to take sort o a break from doing a publication for a year and a half.

As they say in foreplay, getting some!

4-10-2003: Another excerpt from the dysfunctional crypt of madness! (Along with GravyCam here.)

I just got into Metal Maniacs a few months ago with a pretty good review of Bug-Slayer 1 In the Zine And Not Heard section, Check out the article now on the news section of this site! Anoter good review was by AEA Zine. Check that out too! Or you can purchase a Metal Maniacs at damn near any book store but is they happen to be out, just send metal maniacs some money to herir occices in New York and tell them you want the one with Voivod and Strapping Young Lad as a back issue.

Also: I updated Continuum with a Gallery 4 put up some new pictures from the vault of Cephalic Carnage, Incantation and Pissing Razors. Check it out at perhaps my most visited site on the web!

I am about halfway done with the art of Bug-Slayer 3, another half left to do. It has been moving right along due to lack of work thus far.

As Gravy would say! Don't slam man unless you with the GravyCam!

3-12-2003: Another update from family unemployment. So here goes nothing.....

Well Ambiance has new wallpaper (In the form of 3 newer art pieces excusive to Ambiance) and new banners. So that is a definite must see!

These piece I used for the wallpaper, have never been seen online till today. They were just other pieces that I had done. That was stuff I was going to use in a gallery 4, but, at least now, they are being used for good use. I feel as if the Ambiance website is about complete, because it is like renevating an old house. As soon as I can, I may consider doing another gallery on Ambiance. Till then there is Bug-Slayer 3 to work on.

Decorate you desktop today and help promote this thing of underground art or death befold you!

As they say in sex! Go get some!

3-5-2003:Hey there.

Just thought to inform you to a new piece of art on the Bug-Slayer gallery has been added. This time is from the cult underground artist P.J. Scoggins. He is best know for his works on Goreworm. Luckily he contributed a piece and this is definitely one that you should check out!

I also have 2 vintage Gripe pieces on Gallery 2 so check those out as well.

Bug-Slayer 3 is slowly being worked upon. Slow being I am out of work. But hopefully it wont be too long before I get another job somewhere.

----------------------------------------------

To make a long story short. It was not just me that got let go by the ravenous throws of new upper-class management. It was me plus 7 people. It was over stuff like fountain drinks if you can believe it. Next time I will just go to 7-11 for free refills! They got this one guy for pencil breaking! Damn shareholders!

Is this not the ugly face of management just trying to make things politically correct so they themselves can look sparkling clean in their clique?

It was absolute horror. Even my manager got fired. This was all due perhaps to the efforts of wanting cheaper and more sheep-like labor and the end result is people control. Much like an orderly version of the Third Reich but without as much death involved. So that some of the prissie-asses in the day who never worked nighs could get raises and afford their Season Chiefs Tickets and their corperate whores.

But before I get caught up in the BS, I just wanted to say, that it was a cool place to work at. At one time that is! Before the tyrants took over and made the rules all wierded out.

These people even asked me why I was angry all of the time? Well it could have been because it was getting inhumane and rediculous there.

Because in the end it wouldnt have mattered what I would have said or done anyway to these people. The eviction notice was upon me. Rush Limbaughville and Horseface adhered to their so-called firing list and I was number 5!

Proving once again that if you sleep around with management, you can get far in the world.

The said I was barred, thats nothing new to me. First Planet Monopolycon and now this? What the hell is a matter with people these days? I worked for these people for almost 3 years and now the shaft! Yeah it sucked but I felt it coming!

Send all vocal hate barrages to 816-524-5760 and dont forget to call collect.

Then I worked for my brother. Cool at first but another absolute nightmare after the 4th or 5th day. My brother can be alright when you hang out with him, but when it comes to work, he is sort of like Chet from Wierd Science. He just yells at you and expects your 2 days expirence to add up to his 20 years of fixing houses. He is about as impatient as they get. Hey, I am not really Bob Vila here, but it can be cool all of the same.

Well other then this crap that I wrote, I guess I am happy! For now! Another day in America I guess.

As they say in sex-Go get some!

2-15-2003: Well Bug-Slayer 2 is out and about! So get one or be killed! It's actually done right this time with no upside down pages! Yippee!

I am working on sending them to people based mostly on trades. But if you feel like buying it with that hard earned cash, it is still 2 dollars US and 3 world. (The first bug-Slayer is the same price too if you dont already have it!)

Alright here is where I sound off about the new gallery pieces. I added 3 new pieces, including the first contributor piece by Reece. This is an amazing piece of line art that you really need to see! Go check it out on the Gallery as well as Gallery 2.

Contributor art is always accepted here! Just remember that the better it is, the more likely it is to get onto the gallery!

But If you want to submit a piece to me, feel free! You may even get some free comics from me! No money of course because I am a broke ass and anything I get goes towards the next printing! I am underground remember?

I would let you use the medium of your choice. Hence it had something to do with the Bug-Slayer universe of course. Because it is all about interpretation of the characters anyway.

Size requirements for all art should be 8 1/2 by 11 or if sent through Mickmo's email maximum height of 700 pixels and 150 resolution maximum. No nudity, but it can be a bit violent! It is a post-apocalyptic story as you know and it may help if you put some bugs in it.

Any mail should be sent to my address.....

Mickmo
11411 Palmer
Kansas City, Missouri 64134
USA

(Any junk mail or useless crap will be tossed into the flames of Bug Hell and will not be tolerated! You know what I am talking about! So don't be a bonehead! Trades with zines and comics are still cool though! I appreciate the support!)

Hey it is some publicity right? Who know who the hell is going to see it, but it will be someone out there.

So do the best piece you can and if I dig the art, then I will put it up. it's as simple as that!

----------------------------------------------

I also want to comment on people who think that all I do is comics or whatever.

Just to set the records straight, I do do comic art, but I also do other stuff like zine art, album cover art, compilation cover art, and even photography. I think that all art interrelates to one another. I kind of like to think that I have done everything but 3-D computer art and animation.

So I sort of get peaved when I mention that when I do this comic thing, they misinterpret it as me doing some Disney cartoon! That couldnt be further then the truth.

I may not know everything about art, but I am learning as I an going along! I am always expirimenting with the medium of art to the best of my ability.

So yeah it bothers me when perhaps specific musicians may say they are not into comics, but yet it is people like us who do your album covers anyway! I am not saying its everybody. Just certain people who dont know dick about it and just continue to close themselves off from it.

But if you look at my stuff and complement it, then I truly thank you! I mean I dont get onto metal guys who want to do other music, so why should I be in the same boat visually? So I shouldnt be any different.

Other then that, I will be cool of you are cool to me! I mean it is common courtesy unless you lack thereof! I am just saying just have a little respect alright?

If I can establish the respect factor first, then everything else wil come along alright.

Well enough of my rambling......

As they say in sex, get some!

1-12-2003: Another night of cryptic sleep and cleaning house as I write this. Bug-Slayer 2 is finally sent up to the printers. This is a direct continuation of the first issue. Lets hope there are no upside down pages like the last one......

I expect Bug-Slayer 3 to take me a bit longer then this one. The reason being is probably because 3 is going to be the most detailed of the trilogy. 3 centers around the future war of the bug cataclysm.

Surpassingly, Issue 2 will only take 5 months from the first one. From 2 to 3 will take a space of at least 7 months minimum. The reason for this is that I have other projects going on and I have to wait for a shipment of blueline paper to come in. Also I am tending to my other bills and such.

I am working on a 3 page story for the legendary underground cult comic Goreworm! Goreworm 4 to be exact! I hope what I send will see the light of day as far as printing but time will tell.

Also I thank Metal Maniacs for putting me in the shorts section once again. This time is was for my Continuum web site. If you havent checked it out yet, go and do so! I just added a new section of pictures from underground metal concerts. Don't forget to check out the hidden sections on that website if you can find them!

I am also celebrating 5 years of publishing with comics and websites.....it is hard to believe but it is here. Click on this link to see my ups and downs of publishing......

Also: I am updating sections of the Bug-Slayer web site. If you have seen new sections on here, your not quite delirious yet! It is me doing more work that I should be allowed to!

Keep it underground you bloody madmen!

11-9-2002: I am sitting up on the nocturnal moon to tell you that Bug-Slayer is getting good reviews! One got posted up from Jens Metal Page on her zine section. Check it out! Throw away your other comics and get ready for the post-apocalyptic world of Bug-Slayer!

I also have a soon to be link with my Ambiance site through Forever Underground Records (All things hopefully going as planned). This is my 3rd Link to a major Metal record label. The other 2 liks being with Relapse and Century Media. Also, I don't want to leave out that Continuum got linked up with the official Pissing Razors website.

I am also working on issue 2 of the Bug-Slayer Trilogy, I am but 5 pages left of story before I make the kessel run to Kinkos to reduce them down, then work on the acutal pages in Photoshop.

While I dont like giving too much away with the second comic book, I can honestly say it is a continuation of issue 1 in the trilogy. But I am giving a teaser of what the cover is going to probably going to look like! It is a more colorful cover them the first one. Remember, you saw it here first!

95 percent of this cover was done in Photoshop. The only thing I drew was the actual shapes, then superimposed them onto what you see here.

Well I hope you like the little teaser. As they say in sex.....get some!

10-3-2002: Bug-Slayer just came back from the presses, and a day early to boot! I would have to say that it was about 98 percent right except for a few things wrong.

There is a page in the book that actually got turned upside down! Now this slip was not my fault! it was a printer error that got overlooked somehow. (though it was beyond me!) So if you just happen to see me, or just happen to point it out to me somehow, just remember that Mickmo had nothing to do with it! If anything, you just turn the damn comic book around in a 180 degree direction and just look at it.

Blame it on the Bug Hordes at Small Publishers Co-Op! Yeah, it is page 10 of the book. It is a rain scene with a dead bug that got jacked up!

Also, the domain name, of course, got changed from fly.to/bugslayer to bugslayer.homepagehere.com within the comic book.

Other then that, the comic book needs a little time to branch off as far as getting it out there. So I will do the best I can to get one out to whoever wants it. it will probaly take me a few weeks to get a few out there, but I must press on!

Money is even better! All Bug-Slayer is worth is 2 dollars shipping and handling, 3 dollars World! Now I know you have that somewhere! Trades work too! I am cool with that!

I also get requests for the underground cult classics, Tales of Retribution and Tales of Retribution 2: Darkmind. So here are the prices for them with shipping and handling. (Preferrably American Currency.)

Tales of Retribution: 3.00 US, 4.00 World

Tales of Retribution 2: Darkmind: 2.00 US, 3.00 World

You can get then both for 4 bucks, US and 5 bucks world!

Damn that is cheaper then some dine-out meals at Mickey Dees! As the say in sex, GET SOME!

9-25-2002: Well Bug-Slayer is at the presses right now (still) and I thought, to take a break from other projects and stuff to start up a new project. it is something I call Continuum: Blasphemous Photography by Mickmo and it is a website dedicated to metal photography. Visit the link and it will take you there. It has picures from my metal going excursions. it includes pictures of bands from Metal Blade, Necropolis, Relapse and more....

I interlinked each website now so there should be no excuse! Check them all out and support the underground!

Also: The new Punished Earth CD comes out dangerously soon. The CD is called Ruined Empire and is made on Uxicon Records. For those who want to check out there website just visit www.come.to/punishedearth to ask for one. it includes some Mickmo art. The original art is on Ambiance.

Then finally, I did some new work for Static Zine including CD and zine cover art that is being published and out in some places. For that stuff, email [email protected] to get a copy. It is my second art effort with that zine.

i even got rid of my iron-ons section on Bug-Slayer for something more useful. So I put up a Bug-Slayer wallpaper section instead. It just made more sense to me. Because it is something the whole degenerate family can use and they are WAY more easier to get and download! So get some, as they say in pornos!

Well back to more stuff.

9-10-2002: Well Bug-Slayer 1 is at the printers right now. The Small Publishers Co-Op to be exact. It was shelved for some time before I actually broke down and sent it. 3 months approxamately.

This comes as sad news to me but about a week ago, my cat passed away last week on Sunday. He got hit by a car. My neighbor told me the harrowing news of how she tried to save his life by taking him to the vet. It is like losing a child, because that is what he was. He was a great cat named Ace, and I feel as if it was losing one of my family members. It was truly a sad day for me, even if my woman didn't care as much as she said she did.

He was there for me when I felt run down or felt lonely to the world, he just didnt care. He was a goof sometimes and just liked life when he lived it. He is the one I thanked for saving me when I had the kidney stones.

Premonitions of the worst entered my mind long before he actually got hit by a car, I had this feeling he wouldnt be with me forever. I had nightmares of the event before it ever happened. It was rather strange that it came to fruitition but somehow i was prepared for it all. Though it is still hard sometimes on me.

He will sorely be missed, because he played partial inspiration to Bug-Slayer. Oh and plus the fact that he entertained the crap out of me! He was thankful for me saving his life, so I repayed it in return.

A week later, i was looking for another cat to replace Ace, and I found a 4 month old that I aptly named Webster. Because he reminded me of that annoying kid from that old TV show!

More stuff later from my torturous life....

7-8-2002: Well I must say it has been approxamately 10 months since I even attempted to work on any of the website. But it is going along alright. I changed the address because I felt as if bugslayer.homepagehere.com was way easier to remember. I feel as I have a lot of catching up to do to tell you what has been going on. So here goes nothing. Read to your hearts content because it is rather facinating.

I had just moved into the subtle confines of South Kansas City to start my own personal art studio, little did I know that it would have the hardest time getting off the ground. It cause many delays because I was literally having to start a new life over again.

About a month or so goes along and I adopt 2 crazy cats, who end up being great roommates, named Ace and Gravy. Ace Being the black and white cow looking guy and Gravy the squirrish bobcat. Finally I have companions for the hallowed tunnels of my lonely life.

Their was some continual house work that need to be done because the house was relatively old, from the 60s to be precise. I was working on like 2 pages of Bug-Slayer after I moved in.

Late December rolls around and I had quite a bit of stress in my life building up because of the new changes and continual work in my life at that time. One night I was working my night shift and I had kidney stones. So I had to go home and literally crawl in agonizing pain to the phone to reach my dad on a Sunday morning. I had the kidney stones pains for 5 hours till I reached the hospital.

I then went into shock after being arrived into the emergency room. I said to myself if I survive this, I am going to work directly on the rest of Bug-Slayer.

The bills were mounting on me tenfold. I had owed the hospital approx. 3500 when it all was said and done with. Money I probably could have used on 2 comics or the house. But it helped me rest up a bit and put this thing together.

Recently I got Roadrunner Online, because, for some odd reason, the net dont work through my phone line. And it helped me out so much. I would tell anyone to get it because it works better then anything Southwestern Hell or a dial-up provider could have given me.

I recently thought to do iron-ons to better spread the word about not only my comic book, but just underground comics and storytelling in general.

I am taking all of the responsiblilities of doing the Bug-Slayer comic by by myself, including the writing, drawing, digital covers, website design, promotion, editing, and printing of the actual book myself and whatever else goes along with it. So it has been a slow process. But I wanted to make sure that it was the best I could do. I have been drawing the actual pages on weekends.

Hopefully if I weighed in the finances right, Bug-Slayer wil be printed in a few months. It looks better then anything I have done in the past because part of what I have is based around computer graphics. It will be totally underground and kick a whole lot of insect thorax!
