SOUTHWESTERN, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
i really wanted to see the bottom bits of western australia (WA)
and i was going to take a little tour bus thingee,
however, i realized it would be the same price
if i just rented a car and did it myself.
Since lani wasn't working, was just waiting out her time
before she headed back to brisbane,
and hey, she'd never been to the bottom bits of WA before,
she decided to come along and be my rent-a-friend for 4 days.

we had gotten tons of advice while at louise's birthday party-
everyone was overanxious to tell us about all the places we should go.
so our 4 days were action packed (and 700k over budget for the rental car).

Our achievements were big and many. we:
*climbed  the Gloucester Tree, the largest fire lookout platform in Australia (63m high)
*climbed Bluff Knoll, the highest peak in WA (1073m high)
*went to the southernmost point in WA (West Cape Howe N.P.)
*saw the point where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean (Cape Leeuwin N.P.)
*walked out on the longest jetty in the Southern Hemisphere (2 km long in Busselton)
*climbed to the top of Wave Rock
*visited the Valley of the Giants  forest (the Tree Top Walk and the Ancient Empire)
*got to explore the elegant Lake Cave
