THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD, VICTORIA
Darren, Keith, and I decided to go
on a 3 day tour of the Great Ocean Road,

a vast stretch of roadway
overlooking rockcliffs in southeastern Australia.

20 people were in our tour group -
from Japan, The US, Germany, England,
Ireland, Scotland, the Netherlands and Canada.
We were so overwhelmed with beautiful scenery
that we became immune to it after a while.
The first night we spent in a little house
owned by the tour company,

where Keith taught everyone
how to play his favourite cardgame, Palace,

and had everyone playing.
The second night we went camping
at a wonderful private site where we could

mountain bike and canoe on the lake.
We saw tons of wildlife: koalas, emus, wallabies, and kangaroos.
The old-growth forests were amazing
(but with much the same deforestation issues as in the states.
Australia is a major wood-chip exporter to Japan).
