the biggest weirdo-stress of the trip
was the encounters with my ex-girlfriend, shelley
we had a not-very-smooth break-up 3 years ago when i was here.
i met her when i was here the first time 6 years ago
we were housemates....then girlfriends...
i mean, technically by the time i left australia last time,
(since we broke up when i first got here last time) we were on an
'OK' basis.
we had hung out an afternoon or 2 together while not being 'together'.
but that was a long time ago...
it had been 3 years since id spoken to her.
(the few times i tried to get in touch with her
there was no answer or i couldn't reach her).
it also just happened to be her birthday while i was there
A bunch of us when out for breakfast
(before Karley and i went swimming at South Bank Parklands)
and it was REALLY awkward...i was crazy nervous
but she really didn't know what to do/say either.
But by that night when we all met up for drinks things were really
a lot better.
we were actually making eye contact and able to have conversation.
All and all, im really glad i got to see her and hear the amazing
things she's been doing.
hopefully, by the time i leave australia this time we can actually
be friends.
