Splash Mountain

Having taken many of the Audio-Animatronic Figurines from the "America Sings" attraction, and adding a few new ones (namely Brer Fox, Brer Bear, and Brer Rabbit) Splash Mountain joined the Disney Mountain Range on July 17, 1989. Guests travel through backwoods swapms and bayous in thier hollowed-out log. The culmination is a high-speed 52-foot drop, at a 45 degree angle, which can almost assure the guests of getting splashed. At opening, it was the longest log flume chute in the world. All this from an idea by Tony Baxter (Disney Designer) he got while sitting in a traffic jam one afternoon. Two of the other three Disney theme parks have the Splash Mountain attraction; The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World (July 17, 1992) and Tokyo Disney (October 1, 1992).
