Pirates of the Carribean made its grand debut on March 18, 1967. Originally an E-Ticket ride (for those of you who remember the days of tickets), "Pirates" was one of the most elaborate dispay of Audio-Animatronics and today is still one of guest's most treasured attractions. Walt Disney unfortuanetly was never able to see the finished product, which was a shame because "Pirates" was one of the attractions that Walt Disney was so excited to see, and to see the faces of the people as they went into and out of the building. At the announcement of "Pirates," at the Disneyland Ten-cenial, the energy when Walt Disney was describing the attraction and how the guests were going to be taken down a waterfall, the excitement filled the room (or television screen, depending on where you were).
