Keanu Movie Reviews
Babes in Toyland 8/10 1986 I haven't seen this one in years! It also stars Drew Barrymore, one of my favorite actresses. Quite different from the classic, I remember watching both with my best friend in 3rd and 4th grade. I give it 8/10 because of cuteness and nostalgia.
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure 8/10 1989 This is one of those teen movie classics! Keanu plays one-half of a dumb, surfer boy duo that just happen to own a time travelling phone booth, which comes in handy when it's time for them to do their history project. They're in for a lot of trouble! If you like stuff like Wayne's World or Dude, Where's My Car?, you'll love this!
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey 9/10 1991 This sequel rocks! The boys are in deep trouble when they die and have to save their relationships with their girlfriends who are being fooled by way-not-cool Bill and Ted clones.
Much Ado About Nothing 9/10 1993 This is one of the few movies based on a Shakespearian play that do it any justice. It's a funny, and sometimes sad tale of love, mistaken love, and almost love. I probably love Denzel Washington in this more than Keanu.
Speed 7/10 1994 I don't have a clear memory of this movie, but the parts I've seen recently seem pretty good. This is the movie that really launched Keanu into stardom, I guess you can call it. It's not my favorite though. It also stars Sandra Bullock, another underrated actress. Keanu plays a cop trying to save a bus that will explode if it stops moving. It's really exciting if nothing else.
Johnny Mnemonic 8/10 1995 This is the movie that actually made me fall in love with Keanu. He plays a futuristic messenger. The only thing is, the package he's delivering is stored in his brain. It didn't get rave reviews, and I admit it's a bit cheesy at parts, but it's a cool movie.
The Devil's Advocate 7/10 1997 I watched this one late at night. The main thing I like about this movie is that he plays a lawyer from my hometown. In the movie, Keanu gets hired by the Devil, and it wreaks havoc on his life. Interesting if nothing else. It also stars Charlize Theron and Al Pacino.
The Matrix 10/10 1999 This is one of my favorite movies of all time. If you have not seen it, stop what you're doing right now, and rent this movie. I can't even describe it.
The Replacements 8.5/10 2000 Keanu plays Shane Falco, a former college football star who has a chance to shine again when there's a professional football strike, and he becomes the quarterback for the replacement team. I think this was a funny, well scripted, well directed movie.
Sweet November 8/10 2001 I'm actually watching the end of this movie as I type this. I'm not big into romances, but this one is pretty sweet. Keanu pairs up once again with Charlize Theron in this one. He is a corporate shark and she is the eccentric woman who changes his life. A bit cliched and predictable, but still sweet.
