| Presenter: I'm joined now by Mickey Harte. Mickey thanks for coming in Mickey: Hi its good to be here. Presenter: Your working very hard! Mickey: Ah its good, its not work when your enjoying yourself!! (laughs) Presenter: Thats true, what did you do for the bank holiday weekend? Mickey: I went to the donegal match yesterday, we nearly won, good fun. Presenter: Did ya win? No, ididnt think so. Mickey: Close very close, we drew. Galway scraped a point at the last minute. Presenter: So your delighted with that one! Mickey: Well me brother lives in Galway so.. Presenter: Ah that was fun, up against eachother, sibling rivalry! Mickey: Yea Presenter: Now listen, i have to ask you, you werent an over night sucess, in terms of you worked hard before the "your a star" thing along. Mickey: Yep Preneter: And you gigged an awaful lot, you still do. So do you still get the buzz out of it? Mickey: Yes, absoulutely, thats where i'm most comfortable at. Its at a bigger level now obviously there's more people coming and they pay in! (laughs) Its great. Prenenter: Ye its not just the whole family! Mickey: Yea your right, not just family and friends!! ( laughs, a lot!) Presenter: Now in Your a star the audience was a family audience so younger peole that liked you wouldnt be able to the gigs in pubs to see you. Mickey: Yea. Presenter: Ideally, what kind of route to you want to go down as a singer/ songwriter? Mickey: Well exactly that route, singer/ songwriter. There's many things you can do with it. I mean i'd like to be somewhere like where David Gray is at, you know thats were im aiming at, i'd love to be in that position, with kind of audience and fanbase. Presenter: Now your album's doing brilliantly and your two singles have been way the top of the charts. Are you happy with that result and if you have abn album next year will there be a different styl or... Mickey; Yes, there will be im sure, its like we had to find cross tracks for this album, we had to be careful we didnt go to obscure and go away from the thing people expected, like the your a star thing and that. There is a pop element to that iswell so we to find a... well alot of my songs are pop anyway so if wasnt too difficult. Presnter: So whats coming up for you? Mickey: Well ii have a couple of weeks off at the end of August Presenter: Yay, happy days!! (both laugh) Mickey: And then we are going to new York for a week in L.A. after that in September. Presenter: Is that a gig? Mickey: Yep, wer'e doing a charity gig out there in Gaelic park. And a feew other things in New York and that in L.A., for a bit of writing. Presenter: So if people are down in New York... Mickey: Ye if people are in New York, all the details are on my website Mickey Harte.com.
