| There was another reception that night, and it was a bit rowdier and later, but wasnt enough to ruin our stay, tho Brian did get just a little testy. Seems reasonable that the management could make it clear to guests that when theyre outside, they can be disturbing others. Oh well, it wasnt all that bad. Monday morning, we had a nice breakfast and headed back to Moms. We had to fetch Andy and some of my stuff (wanted to get the heavy stuff moved while Andy was there to help). We got there and packed up the truck and my car and headed back into town about 4:00. And no, nobody got carried over the threshold...are you crazy?? Andy stayed till Thursday evening, so we had a bit of time together. We didnt do anything spectacular, but we did get a chance to visit and do a little shopping. He was pretty impressed with Coors Field, though. We all took in a Rockies game (surprise, surprise...they lost) the Thursday before the wedding. Loss or not, it was a great experience; the first time either Andy or I had seen a pro ball game. Since then, weve been busy. There are a number of projects around the house were trying to get done. We had to strip the wallpaper in the master bedroom (gosh, what a fun chore that is!) And then I painted. Well, first I painted the carpet, spent a day cleaning up that mess! After that, I put the paint on the walls and found it works much better that way. Once that was done, we moved the furniture in and voila. Im still waiting on Brian to go through some drawers and the closet, but thats one of those things that can be put off for a while. We also have plans to renovate the backyard (which in our case is just a small patio area). Brians going to move the fence a bit and put some grass in for the puppies. I pulled up all the paving bricks in readiness for that job. Later in the fall and winter, were going to tear out the wooden flower boxes and put in a brick and stone affair, complete with a waterfall, stream and pond. A herculean task, but were whittling away at it. About 10 days after the wedding, we received a letter from the county clerk. We assumed it was our official wedding certificated. I was pleased because it meant I could get my new drivers licence etc. What it turned out to actually be was the original; PJ had neglected to fill in the blanks! It was all signed and dated, but that was all. See? Told you we hadnt got enough coffee into the poor man. Ah well, it was good for a chuckle because of course we ribbed him unmercifully. However, its completed and recorded officially now, so alls well that ends well. So, thats the story. Wed like to express our thanks to you all for everything. It was a beautiful day with lots of love and smiles...and what could be better? |
