2. WHAT CAN I USE 3DCC98 FOR?
+ 3D Color Changer 98 has been designed to change the look and
feel of Windows. It looks and works similar to the Desktop
applet which you can find in your Control Panel, although
the lather doesn't enable you to alter colors of the 3D
frame shadows and highlights, mouse tracking color and other.
You can load and save color schemes and transfer them between
computers... Now that's useful! On the other note, 3DCC98
supports all Windows98 specific colors. Under Windows98 and
NT5.0 only, of course.+ 1. Run SETUP.EXE.
+ 2. JaSMiN Setup Engine will prompt you only for destination
folder and Start Menu group. If the folder/group specified
doesn't exists, it'll be created automatically. If you
don't want Start Menu group to be created uncheck the box
near the 'Start Menu Items' caption.
4. HOW 2 USE
- 1. Launching 3D Color Changer 98:
+ You can launch 3DCC98 in two ways:
+ 1. Via the Control Panel - (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel)
you'll find new icon named 'Color Settings' there.
+ 2. Via Start Menu - just point to the Start Menu group you
asked Setup to create items in.
- 2. Controls:
+ 1. Scheme Menu
+ Load Scheme - Opens a scheme in *.3DC format.
+ Save Scheme - Saves a scheme in *.3DC format.
+ 2. Colors Menu
+ Apply - Applies current scheme to system.
+ Refresh - Loads current system colors.
+ Restore - Use this to restore colors before last Apply or
Refresh click.
+ 3. View Menu
+ Active Window - Makes the preview window to show active
window settings (like Active Caption, Active Border etc.)
+ Inactive Window - Makes the preview window to showinactive
window settings (like Inactive Caption, Inactive Border etc.)
+ Minimize 3DCC - Minimize 3DCC98 to taskbar - 3DCC hasn't
got Minimize button unfortunately.
+ Close 3DCC - Closes the program.
+ 4. Help Menu
+ About - Open About Box containing information about the
program as well as registration request :)
+ E-Mail author - Opens your mail program with a new, blank
letter to author.
+ Author's Website - Opens JaSMiN homepage within your
default Web Browser.
+ 5. Tasks Button Menu
+ Load Scheme - same as Scheme -> Load Scheme.
+ Save Scheme - same as Scheme -> Save Scheme.
+ Refresh - same as Colors -> Refresh.
+ Restore colors - same as Colors -> Restore.
+ 6. Apply Button - same as Colors -> Apply.
+ 7. Close Button - same as View -> Close.
+ 8. Preview - shows a preview of window.
+ 9. Active wnd. - Determines whether the preview shows an
active or inactive window.
+10. Dropdown list - contains a list of available window
elements.
+11. Colored Box - shows a color of the element selected
above. Click this box to alter the color.
+12. A Panel With Numbers [TM] - shows RGB (Red-Green-Blue)
information about the color.

+ 1. Choose the item from the dropdown list you wanna change
color of.

+ 1. To achieve best results, try choosing light colors
of 3D Dark Shadow and Focused Object Frame.

slow i got it around 8:00pm and it took nearly half an hour but

2. Minimum system requirements
ZoneAlarm requires:
- Microsoft Windows 95 (original with WinSock 2 or OSR2), or
Windows 98 (original, SP1, and SE), or
Windows ME, or
Windows NT 4.0 (SP3, SP4, SP5, SP6 or SP6A),or
Windows 2000 (Original, SP1 or SP2), or
Windows XP
- an 80386 or faster processor (486 recommended),
- 8 Mb of system memory.
A full installation requires approximately 5 Mb of hard disk space.
ZoneAlarm works with most types of TCP/IP connections, including Ethernet LAN, wireless LAN, DSL, cable modem and dial-up connections.

4. Installation/Uninstallation
To install ZoneAlarm, run the installation executable. The setup programwill prompt you for all additional steps.
The installation procedure records the changes made to your system to a file called INSTALL.LOG in the installation directory (by default, "C:\program files\ZoneLabs\ZoneAlarm").
To install on a Windows NT/2000 or XP machine, you will need administrator privileges. To install on Windows NT 4, this product requires Service Pack 3,4,5 or 6 be installed.
Upgrading an existing installation of ZoneAlarm requires that you rebootthe system before running the newly installed version. This is particularly important for Windows 2000 and XP users, to ensure the system does not restore the previous TrueVector device driver.
To uninstall ZoneAlarm, select the Start | Programs | Zone Labs | Uninstall ZoneAlarm item on the main Windows menu.
NEW INSTALLATION OPTION
If you’ve previously run ZoneAlarm or ZoneAlarm Pro and are installing a new version, the installer will now ask you if you’d like to delete the program settings and configurations from your previous installation and start with default settings. This is highly recommended if you have beenexperiencing problems with the previous version. If you delete the previoussettings, you will lose all program settings and other configurations andyou will revert to the default settings that come standard with the productwhen freshly installed. Most users are able to successfully install a newerproduct version over a previously run version without having to delete theirprevious settings.
5. Running ZoneAlarm
You can start ZoneAlarm by choosing the Start | Programs | Zone Labs | ZoneAlarm item on the main Windows menu. ZoneAlarm will also start automatically each time you start the computer.
To read the ZoneAlarm Help page, press the F1 key or thehelp button on the ZoneAlarm application window.
6. What's New in This Release
This release contains many new features, including:
- Support for Windows XP and upgrading ffrom previous Windows versions toWindows XP. When upgrading ZoneAlarm is migrated to the new operating systemas well.
- Improvements to the method of saving pprogram settings and configurations for increased reliability and stability.
- Solves a problem some users experienceed with the new AOL version 7.0 browser.
- Fixes problems where some streaming meedia and messaging programs wouldnot work with ZoneAlarm.
- Fixes problems with users logging in aand out where the program would not launch again.
- Fixes some problems reported with Winddows NT and SP6A. Microsoft has made available a hot fix that resolves the problems introduced by the latest security update.
This ZoneAlarm release combines powerful new security features includinga hardening of the firewall against the latest mutex-related threats anda new slate of security measures that patch vulnerabilities in some operatingsystems.
This new release also debuts many ease-of-use features including rated and color-coded firewall and program alerts, each with concise, complete advice and additional information available with the click of a button. Also new is an informative tutorial to briefly introduce users to the important security features of ZoneAlarm.

7. Known problems
- There have been limited cases where ZooneAlarm will forget a user's program settings. This may be a sign of corrupt settings. The best way to fix corrupt settings is to reinstall ZoneAlarm opting to delete the program settingsand configurations from your previous installation and start from scratch.
- 16-bit applications will always be bloocked by the firewall in High security mode, on Windows 95A with WinSock 1.1 still installed. This can befixed by installing WinSock 2, available from Microsoft.
- 16-bit applications that access the Innternet register under Windows NTas "NTVDM.EXE". You can only enable or disable permissions for 16-bitapplications as a group.
- If ZoneAlarm starts up and does not apppear to be reporting on Internetactivity, check the CONFIGURE panel. This panel reports the statusand version of ZoneAlarm, the TrueVector Internet Monitor engine, and theTrueVector driver.
- The access locks and permissions you sset using ZoneAlarm continue to be enforced by the TrueVector Internet Monitor engine when the ZoneAlarm user interface is not running. This protects your computer when you're not logged on.
- The tooltips on the Programs panel dissplay in two colors, one for eachcolumn of information. The left column displays using the system tooltiptext color; the right column displays using the system Highlighted Backgroundcolor. You can set both of these colors in the Control Panel | Display| Appearance dialog box.
