Fiji - 9
Declan waiting for the school bus outside our front gate. They haven't actually managed to catch the bus yet.  It comes past at 7.15am, but doesn't stop if it's full.   The local kids then sometimes wait (in the heat) until 8.15 for the next one, and get in trouble at school for being late!  School starts at 8am so it's easier to drive, and we often pick up extras along the way.

Declan wears a "pocket sulu" to school, which all the Fijian kids wear. Riley opted for shorts as he didn't want to look like a girl....
Riley celebrated his 9th birthday in Fiji with a day off school.  Actually they had 4 days of school in the aftermath of Cyclone Gene as all schools in the country were closed.  It was very hot and we had no power or water.  Riley had asked me to make him a hermit crab cake.  I did my best under the circumstances, but we all had a laugh at the results....
