The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The skit dealt with Jay and Music Director Kevin Eubanks having dinner
at a "Theme Restaurant". Well obviously the theme here was "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Included
here is a photo reconstruction of the skit. I appologize about the quality, But VHS is still only VHS!
At the start, Jay and Kevin complain about having to wait half a hour for their egg rolls.
The Matre'D, summons the help. A quick clip of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"
is played (the cafe battle), and Michiko jumps into the scene.
With a quick and easy spin kick, Michiko turns and presents the egg rolls to Jay.
The plate of entree's are not taken quickly enough. So Michiko follows up with a second entreatment.
Kevin questions the word ("Shin"), believing it to be chin. Jay eases his friends discomfort by saying the staff know him.
Kevin requests a sharper knife and the Matre'D again claps his hand to summon the help.
Again another clip from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
Michiko deftly leaps into
the shot, twirling the sword (which miraculously changes from wood to rubber),
and presents it to Kevin.
