Creating a pop up window with JavaScript is basically just opening antother browser window. You can set options such as height, width, and whether or not the window will have a status bar or toolbar. In the example below, the window will be 350 x 400 pixels in size, and all other options, besides scrollbars, are set to no.

OnMouseOver Pop-up Window

RE: Auto Pop Up & Close Window
This demo will open a small popup window 3 seconds after the page is loaded and close the window after it has been open for 5 seconds.
